cannondale gemini recall

i just picked up the feb 03 issue of mtn biking. pg 12 at bottom cannondale is recalling 02 gemini 2000,1000 frames and 2003 gemini 2000, 1000 and 900 frames in med and large sizes. if the frame is bad cannondale will provide new warranty frames.

Bring your Gemini's to your LBS (cannondale dealer's)
We have tools to determine wether or not it is a re-call frame.
Not all the frames are being recalled. It is just the front Tri-angle. The problem is the down tube near the main pivot for the rear swing arm. Some of the tubes were not manipulated to optimum strength. A simple plastic tool will determine if it is a recall.

I've heard that only a small ammount of bikes like 1 in 1000 have been a problem? Steve can you shed some light on that? Kevin

I'm not sure of the statistical numbers of the re-call...However, we have seen 1 in probably 20 or so...Cannondale has remedied this for 03' supposedly??
If they continue to build bikes???
