1st Annual Harpoon Winter Triathalon -- Mt. Sunapee
January 19, 2003

Event Eligibility
Must be 18+
Entrance limited to first 125 participants
No pre-registration. Must register on-site day of event

Registration -- 8-10 am at Spruce Lodge; entrance fee ($15)

Registration bags to include:
Sunapee: Course Map, Area Information, physical bags
Harpoon: 1 Hat, 1 T-Shirt, 1 Pint Glass, Brewery Brochures, Stickers, Friend of Harpoon sign-up

Course + Timing

OFFICAL START 11 am
Leg 1 – Mountain Bike
Leg 2 – Snowshoe
Legs 1 and 2 will be timed continuously. Time will not be stopped during the change-over. All equipment required for leg 2 (including snowshoes) must be carried during the bike stage. Gear storage will not be available in the transition area. Bikes may be left in transition area after leg 1.

Leg 3 – Skiing (Leg 3 must be started by 2:30 pm)
Best Of Two runs on a standard GS course; to be held on the NASTAR race hill.

Final Time = Total Elapsed Time of Legs 1 and 2 plus lesser of two times from Leg 3.

Age Groups
18-30 Men
18-30 Women
31-49 Men
31-49 Women
50+ Men
50+ Women
Patrol
Mt. Sunapee Ski Patrol to be on-course through entirety of the event.
Results
Awards ceremony will begin in Goosefeathers Pub at 4:30 pm.
Results will be posted in Goosefeathers Pub as racers finish leg 3.
Electronic Results will not be available the day of the event.
Results will be posted on MtSunapee.com by 1/20/03.

My question is , 1 Mile Mt Bike , is not very far . Is that up the Mt down the Mt across the , etc I guess I'm curious what type of terain are we talikg here , same for the Snow shoe although that is not as Important.

Gee, this sounds kind of fun. Splat are you thinking of doing this?

This does sound like a blast. They should lengthen it and offer a team class...run it like a relay....Kind of like the Granite Man.

Looks like I have to travel that day.

Depending on what you have to ride . if it is ride up the Mt, probably not, that will be mostly a push fest . If it is down the Mt , Now were talking :D, the Snow Shoe , doesn't matter to Me , I think I'd actually like that to be up the Mt .

1 mile bike really is not that much unless it is an Up/down hill run.

also Have to see what the other plans Wifey has for weekend .
