Looks like it's going to be very cold this weekend, yet I still want to go ride Wompi Sunday to try the new bike.
I'm wondering "Am I mad?"
What kinda of sickness makes a person want ride a bike in the middle of this kinda winter? When right minded people are making ski plans or home warm watching football.
Have I become a "real" biker or just a fricken idiot?
Maybe the 2 are the same? :)

SLOMO,
I think I have the same "disease" as you do. I was riding up and down my street last night around 9:00 p.m. in my riding shorts, a turtleneck and a hockey jersey. I was testing out my wife's (should I still be calling her that?) Bobcat Trail. Methinks I shoulda opted for the 15" Marin frame after all.
I could only go up and down the street a few times because I had the kids by myself last night. But I had fun even if it was fleeting and slippery as hell!
I just hope my neighbors didn't catch me! :o
How's the Loco coming along?

You got it my man. Plus your hankering to get out on the new rig.
SMJ - I'm slated to ride saturday on some packed down snowmobile,/XC ski trails near my pad. We'll see just how chilly it is. My wife is having a baby shower for her friend at our place so the Fox needs to get out so the Hens can cackle.
Plan B is the local watering hole.

Ah...Thanks guys.
A fool feels quite comfortable among other fools. ;)
You're right, it's just the bug of the new bike, which was supposed to take me all winter to build. Ha
Splat just took me out for some fun snowshoeing during lunch today. That may help balance me out a bit.
ps
Actually, I feel quite normal compared with my buddy NOO in his shorts riding a NH winter night. :)

Thanks SloMo!...............I think! ;D
Say, sometime write me an email describing your bike parts search journey etc. etc. with the loco moto! mmcgrath@foundation.uconn.edu
I'd love to hear how you found deals or got not so good deals, where you found stuff etc. etc.
Thanks!
Mark
And I may have looked foolish out there last night, but at this point in my life who the hell cares! I had fun!!
I think I'm rediscovering some lost time in my youth with my cycling bug.
Hell, I'm now considering buying a 1980s era Univega Super Sport road bike, tricked out with downtube shifters, and Suntour deraillerus etc. etc. In fact it may be a non-shimano bike! $170 bucks or so from Scott's in Willimantic - New Old Stock......kinda retro...kinda cool.
Whattya think?
