I will be there as long as it is not raining. I am not starting off my new year of biking in the rain. That has got to be bad luck. If not though...I am there.

Willie Hurl Ride...that's a good one. I might try to make it, depending on the weather. Sounds like fun tho..

Arcadia is too far for me... anyone been out on the North Shore (MA)? How are the riding conditions? I'm trying to figure out if I should head south for a New Year's Day ride...

The north country is going to get hit by an ice storm tomorrow >:( so it looks like the 5 days of powder skiing is coming to an end... I may need to get back on the bike.

Z,

I'm so sorry to hear about the ice storm spoiling your fun in the snow. When someone gets so little time off its tragic when the weather doesn't cooperate. Perhaps the silver lining to this dark cloud will soon show through. Don't despair. We're all with you.

Cool!
Good job AG, you got the ride zone down there. North Shore of MA got heaps of snow. I was on the cape last couple days and it's real nice down there. No biking tho...just family getaway.

I was thinking of joining a Rager ride at Hingham's Wompatuck on NY day, but if a few of the Nemba folks go to Arcadia then I'll join. Dress right and that rain is no biggie.

AG, can you post up some directions?
Thx

Thanks C

Good news: The weatherman has changed the forcast to "no rain" for NY day.

Bad news: That Arcadia is a hell of a drive from Marlboro Mass.

I'm still game if a few people are committing to show. Anyone wanna a carpool? I have minivan with bike rack.

I don't know a lot of yoze guys. Hey if you're on the 'net, you've got to be ok - right? Right?

I used to ride Arcadia a LOT, but haven't for years now. Its a bit of a haul for me from NE CT, but worth the trip...

See ya tomorrow AM (haven't officially cleared with the wife yet so not 100%)

Sorry guys...Change of plans.
Because I now have company over staying the night, I can't make the long trek to RI tomorrow.

I'm going to go on the Hingham ride, which is much closer and a little later. A compromise my wonderful wife agreed to.

Another time.
Enjoy.

I heard that in town (Cambridge/Boston) was messy. We have maybe 5" of wet snow here in Bedford and lots of snow banks. Sounds like the riding is pretty much nill. DOH!

A couple of us attempted a ride @ Harold Parker today. It was like slogging through 6" of heavy, wet, slippery cement so we ended up not touching any singletrack; We did some fire roads & just went out spinning on the road with our 40# slush-filled rigs. We did climb Holt Hill for a nice hairy slippery descent. I think the XC skiing is better right now:)
Happy New Year!

That's cool guys.
It turned out to be real nice in the AM.

JustBill and I joined a few Ragers for a ride thru Wompatuck. That was my first time down there, nice area and it's quite rideable now.

The only bummer was my rear derailer breaking 3/4 of the way thru the ride. Oh well...Good time otherwise.

Alternately,

Just go to the MTBR forums and click on the passion forum. I think Jisch labeled the thread RI Ride or something like that.

I bet JT wouldn't mind viewing the photos of the guy on the Bullit! ;D

Cheers,

Mark
