I won a cannondale for coming in first in a race series in VT.
I love my bike and its components but i have had lots of troube with the lefty.
THe fork started making squishy noises and was inceredably plush all the time.
I know nothing about it, but my shop tells me that the oil cartridge broke and needed to be replaced so thats what i had them do. A couple months later it happened again.
I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if im the only one blessed with continuos mechanical failure.

First off where did you get the name Crapding???

Second do I know you??? Are you "the" young "LEFTA" racer?

My advice is to trust your shop, if the bike is not right and you don't have the experience to determine the problem, leave it to the people who make their living at fixing bikes.

On the other hand if you don't trust the shop, try taking it to a different shop for their opinion. Knowing a reputable shop is important to keeping your bike running properly. Of course in rural VT it is probably requires traveling for the second opinion.

But hey, you won the bike, so a little expense to keep it running shouldn't hurt too much. And you can always win another one! Or did you already?

I hope that helps, Poodent.

PS, Broomball this year?

I ride a Jekyll 1000 w/ lefty....I have had flawless performance from day 1...You should have the shop send the fork back to Cannondale....Our shop has sent a few forks with problems and they all have come back fixed and problem free. Not that the shop is doing something wrong....The crew at Cannondale can get your fork dialed in for your weight and rider style. Lefty problems are few and far between.....Drew at the Cannondale/HeadShock tech room is the person you want fixing the fork.....He is VERY knowledgeable in the art of Leftys....

Dearest Poo-dent,
Sounds like Sparkster has the solution and experience in these matters. Thanks Sparky!

Now don't delay, get that Lefty to Cannondale asap so you don't miss riding when mudseason comes to VT!

Not sure where the annual Broomball is going to take place, but it will be in the afternoon the day after xmas.
Also the Tracye family will be coming. You may remember Jill, Sam's old girlfriend, who did the No-nonense pantyhose commercials. They are back to visit the family. Call the flat roof house on xmas and we should have all the details.

I will bring the bike if I can fit it in with all the stuff we lug up there!

Have a great xmas
Snembalen.
PS mention my secret identity again and I will have to rub you out!
