Local DH racing?

I posted this question on the New England section of ridemonkey with little result, so here goes again:

If I was silly enough to be thinking about entering a DH race to see if I like it, where would the closest venues to Burlington, Vermont be?

Mount Snow seems to be pretty serious big time - are there smaller scale venues and events?

Sunday Rivers B.O.M.B. series is a great series and Sunday River has the best DH trails in New England. Sunday River usually keeps the race courses open all season long and anyone can take a stab at them (unlike Mt Snow).

There is a dh race the day before The "All OUt in Moody Park" race which is part of the EFTA series. More info. at www.efta.com
