cam corder

i am thinking of getting a digital camcorder to get some mtn biking vids some street racing and general use what are some types anyone has used and any big issues with others

I've been using the Canon Elura 40MC mini-DV model since the summer-it's a 1 chip model & is typical of the smaller DV units available. The only annoyance is the need to carry the wireless remote whenever using an external analog recording source (ie: lipstick cam). If you'll be using a lipstick cam kit, you can go larger/cheaper since you'll be tossing the thing in your camelback anyway. I've heard good things about the Sony miniDV units, but Canon makes comparably sized/featured models for less $$ typically.
