Isn't Avatar a company that makes machined aluminum chainrings?

AA was the impetus behind the avatar change. I think it was AA who posted the Riddler picture the other day wasn't it?

In any event, that got me thinking about that "Get everything for free from the government guy" and voila you have the new Avatar! ;D

Just curious, but what are the best clipless pedals for wet/icy winter riding conditions? Time Atacs? Eggbeaters? sh*tmanos, or just plain old platforms?

I wonder if there is a government grants program that could score me some cash for a shiny new Full Suspension Trailbike!? :D

I don't know if it fits.
That guy is more answers than questions and;
You are more questions than answers.

Gungy has a good point there.....I was thinking more of his wardrobe than his "gig" so to speak.

I should know this one, but don't you have to answer a leprechaun's questions in order to get his Pot 'O Gold?

Perhaps a return to the Leprechaun would be appropriate after all.

I nominate the lot of you for the "Post-Whore" Awards!

When riding in extremely dry and dusty conditions it is equally as important to clean your drivetrain as it is in mud. Also be sure to wipe off the shock tubes so the dust doesn't damage your seals.

I think you only posted this to match my post count.

LOL! I won't change the username again........MMcG will stand put.

Just think I could have gone with "No I'm not the Sugar Ray Mark McGrath" or something along those lines! You wouldn't believe how often I get those type of comments from college students, grocery store clerks or bouncers when I have to show my ID!

If I could only have 1/100th of that Mark McGrath's wealth then I'd probably have a stable full of shiny new bikes to ride!

I'm concerned. There is no question here. The only other time this happened was when you enlightened us about dogs.

Why would you show your ID to college students?

Without studs, anytime you approach a patch of ice as long as your wheelbase, it will be a losing battle.

Did you ride at the Turkey Burner? There were a couple long patches of ice on that rail trail - no studs on the bike yet - but I didn't lose (that time anyway).

and if MMc has an Id, why is he looking for a full suspension bike? I thought those Ids were hot stuff. :o

NOO...........I work at the Nutmeg State's Flagship University (aka UConn) and this summer I played in a co-ed rec softball league. We had to show our ID before every game to make sure teams weren't using ringers. College kids umpired and kept score and it never failed......I got at least one comment every single game.

Sage advice on the studded tires........now what brand would you recommend or would it be cheaper to do it yourself? ;D

Thought that might ease your concern a little NOO!

I lost it big time!, I was fooled by pk & AA, They had studs on, and at that frist section of ice I went down quick and slid into home plate. Got up, got a running start and crashed again.

MC Askalot are you Irish? Have you been to Ireland? Do these random questions annoy you?

Todd,

I am Irish and proud of it. I take it you must have some Irish blood flowing through your veins as well from your dog's name.

We'll have to get together and hoist a few post-ride pints sometime. And I can ask you in person all sorts of mountain bike related questions.

Slainte!

What was your batting average? How about with men/women in scoring position? How many steals? Where did you play in the field?

I rode the Turkey Burner without studs. Some of that ice of the rail trail was broken a bit and I was able to make easy work of it. Admitingly, I watched a few folks go down on one stretch so I sought an alternative route. (not damaging in anyway to fomba trails)

I did go down and slide a few feet at that Donut tent just before the singletrack. I took the path less travelled and provided some entertainment for everyone.

Let's just say that I wish I was half as good at mountain biking as I am at softball.

And there's no stealing in slow pitch softball wise guy! ;)
