i have a 2001 marzocchi jr t fork with a flat upper plate.I want to install it on a 2002 Santa Cruz Bullit frame. The problem is i have to use 2 10mm spacers and a one 5 mm spacer under the top plate to make it fit right. Im using a Crane Creek S-2 headset. The lower steerer crown is in place where the factory assembled it. If i raise the lower crown up the stancions they are .010 smaller then where the lower crown is at now.It says in the install instructions that the top plate has to be even or slightly lower then the top of the stancions. Is using this many spacers to make up the difference a safe way of installing this fork? Thanks

i have an 03 bullitt. it came with a boxxer race. i replaced it with a 2003 marzocchi z1 fr qr20 plus. i have 3 5mm spacers under the stem the boxxer had 4 5 mm spacers under the crown and 2 above the stem. according to marzocchi the triple crowns are able to safely take the long steer tube length. on single crown forks 20 mm is the max they reccomend. i hope this is helpful can you get a diagram of your fork

Thanks Agent. I e-mailed Marzocchi they have yet to respond. I also e-mailed Shelodn Brown. I think i confused him alittle. Im not good at explaining things. But from what you told me and Sheldon i guess the spacing is ok. I just dont want to put in the star nut and find out i need to cut the steerer shorter.
Thanks

Don't worry DAWGEE. When I am unsure as to how tall I want the stem to be, I install the star nut. When the sweet spot is found, I just mark how much more the nut needs to go and install a long bolt and tap it in the right amount. I have also used compression plugs that can be installed and removed many times.
