Hey all, well since there has not been an announcement of an official Turkey Burner Ride, a couple of us are riding at Bluff Point here's the 411:

Date/Time: Friday Nov. 29th, 10am
Location: Bluff Point - Groton, CT

Directions I95 N: Exit 88, turn right onto RT 117 S. (North Rd). Turn Right onto Rt 1. At the Dairy Queen, Take a left onto Depot Rd. Follow Rd under the Train Tracks. You are in the park at this point. Follow dirt road to main lot. Look for a Blue or Green Dodge Dakota.

Directions I95 S: Exit 88, turn left onto RT 117 S. Follow directions above.

Hope to see you all there! This place is great!!! Perfect after turkey day ride, not many climbs and a whole lot of single track. Along with some technical rock hopping sections!!

Any questions, call or email me!

What will be the riding-level for this ride?

Any good LBSs in the area to pay a visit to? Or to see if they have any FS Demo rigs to test out?

Thanks!

Riding Level with vary. This place can accomadate novice, adv novice, Intermediate and adv intermediate. There is even some beginner stuff if you stay on the access road. Depending on numbers, the ride will be adv novice/Intermediate. I love this place!

As far as LBSs, not sure. You may have to check around. If spoon would check in, he could answer that question.

Sounds great!! Nice to see you guys trek across the state. It should be worth it! you get to spend your time riding instead of climbing.

Just an update, weather is lookin good for now. Although not sure what this coming storm may bring. Usually the Bluff stays pretty snow free. It will be cold so don't forget to layer it!! If the weather forecast happens to change for the worst (i.e. Rain and cold) the ride will be cancelled. Any questions please email or call me. Lets hope it doesn't hace to come to that!!

Spoon informs me there is about 2 in. out that way. But who cares! I'll be there!! This will probably be the only snowy ride I do this year, so I figure it can't hurt!

See you all there.

Hey all, well the unofficial Turkey Burner at the Bluff was a good time!! We had a couple of us show up to brave the snow and cold temps. The temp didn't reach much above 30 degrees. But once we got out of the wind and into the single track the cold kind of took a back seat! Thanks to Brian, Mark and Paula for coming out to join me on my crazy cold crusade or refusing the riding season is over!!! Can't wait to do another ride there this winter!!
