Radial Laced Wheels

Was the main benefit of a Radial Laced front wheel weight and some slight aerodynamic advantage?

Have they become obsolete because you can't run them with disc brakes?

I own a couple radial laced front wheels that I have never had problems with. I remember when I first got them I was ahead of the curve. One got some use this year and the other might end up on a SS if the I can get that project done.

Scratch that. I haven't been wheel shopping in a while. I just bid on some higher end wheels that have a radial laced front wheel.
