North-South Trail

I have been wanting to plan an over night treck of the north south trail for a while now. I actually wanted to hike it before I started biking. But, biking it seems to be a bit more practical. Is there anyone out there who might have done it before that could give me some advice or tips. I have read a write up on the mtb-review. This person did an over night trip but didn't finish the next day.
I hope that I am not trying to bite off more than I can chew with this but I just have to do it.
Any input will be very welcome. ???

I picked up a great book called ....."ahem" The North South Trail. Written by Cliff Vanover. It has some great info in it so far and some great maps. As far as this being a group thing well I only had in mind two maybe three people. If it got bigger than that well more the merrier. This is something that I really have to do and I am hoping to get some input from those who might have done this before. I have heard that there are maps available in N. Kingstown at the Great Swamp entrance near the trail station.

Actually permits are required for groups 10 and over.
