View Full Version : Fattie Gate

After much debate Kazoo feels that it is necessary to launch a formal investigation into Fattie Freaks number of posts. Kazoo will recommend that MMc (AKA MarinMan) be assigned as independent council due to the fact that he is excellent at asking questions. Fattie will be required to produce the missing 50+ posts that he has been given credit for. Kazoo hopes that this issue has no negative effect on the stock market or the economy in general and hopes that this will not tear apart the great country known as America.
More to follow..........
BTW Did you know that a clean chain has less chance of experiencing "chain suck"

Kazoo.....are you sure you want me...after all you don't know my hourly billing rate! ;D

I suggest a concurrent investigation regarding the suspicion of Kazoo formely known as Big Game.
Preliminary analysis:
Big Game last heard from at 1:19PM on 11/14. Kazoo arrives on the scene hours later....Coincidence???
To the untrained eye they may have different writing styles but experts would agree the differences are intentional enough to suggest too many similiarities. He pioneered the MTB related closing adopted by the likes of Gump and Myself.
His Lead Couselor, Todd, had suggested and identity change.
MMc you should into this as well. Of course given your unannounced identity change perhaps you can't be trusted.
Of course, I personally would espect more of Big Game's alter ego than some Kazoo clown.
I hope I am wrong and Big Game is merely dilligent at work, or sleeping on the couch with a bag of Cheetos by his feet.
Gump - have you seen King of the Coconuts around?

NOO.....you are a wise one and your insights may be spot on. Kazoo could very well be Big Game. Especially in light of his bike-related tips at the end of his most recent post. I hope I can turn to you for sage mountain bike advice in the future!
The reason for my name change was due to your sage advice since I'm now planning on going the sweet flashy new FS rig route with a subsequent Single Speed conversion of the Nail Trail. Hence, once I get the new rig (which most likely won't be a Marin....since high end Marins are few and far between here in this great region of the good ol' USofA known as New England) my user-name wouldn't have been appropriate.
As for my character....I like to consider myself the kind of guy who would loan his spare tube to an unprepared rider if said ride would happen to run a flat....that's me in a nutshell. That and I'm blessed to two great rescue dogs as part of my family!! :D
Now in order to stay true to form here's another question for the forum: How does one find one of those snazzy avatars that are so prominently featured by so many posters here in the forum??
And to add something bike related to this post: What tires are best suited for our New England trails and riding conditions? ;)

I agree that a full investigation is due.
I however only have one question I want answered:
When(exact time) was the last vote posted? Fattie didn't "LOCK" the post until 12:30:00:00.
I am doubtful that the B.G. is "Kazoo" but will look into it. I can however confirm that Big Game is "Just Like a Woman".
At one point the Great Kazoo STOLE one of my closings to use as his own. At that point I thought I was being framed.
It is best to coat your cables with a light coat of grease before you insert them into the housing. That way they will work better AND last longer.

MMc - I know you are a man of integrity. Good luck with the FS purchase and SS conversion of the Marin. Understandably, with two fine lads at home your biggest obstacle may be budgetary approval by Mrs. CFO. With that said there are many fine used FS/XC bikes out there in addition to decent priced new rigs with solid components. (check out Specialized)
Gump - I too noticed that Kazoo was "bitin" your closing. That is WEAK. Ask yourself, could BG in his infinite wisdom be out to frame you? Did you call the VT honey behind his back?

NOO - once again you are spot on with the budgetary comments! If we ever meet at a group ride festival, I'll definitely buy you a round!
As for the FS journey...it should be a fun one....full of test rides, demos and more questions to the forum for advice! If only the rest of you knew how long it took me to decide on the Marin (was actually leaning towards a Jamis Dakota AL but the salesman I was dealing with was a major prick and cared more about the cute girl checking out their clothing than he did on making a sale...so I walked)! ;D
I will keep my eye out for new and used frames as well as fully built rigs! And in the meantime, I'll try to ride the heck out of the Nail Trail.
Why couldn't be raining today and nice and sunny tomorrow and Sunday instead??
And regarding Specialized.....Stumpjumper or Enduro? ;)

Mr. Cheeze smells a vast right-wing conspiracy. First the mysterious high number of postings for one Fattie. Then the enigmatic Kazoo arrives on the scene, mystifying all with his surprisingly cogent points, and exacting a sly inside jab at the Omniscient one (and thusly exposing the Martian's true identity, which was known anyways, because Mr, Cheeze is omniscient). And then the J-man inexplicably rose from the dead to make a single post which somehow disappears back into the great beyond. Yes, Mr. Cheeze saw the Jesus post. Mr. Cheeze chuckles at the silly moderator who was offended. Humans... cannot live with them, cannot cast them into the great interdimensional abyss.

I have posted this before but I could not locate the forum. For technical XC riding:
Rear: Tioga Factory DH 2.1
Front: WTB Manuraptor 2.24
As far your requestion regarding Stumpjumper (FSR) or Enduro?
One must diagnose before they prescribe.

What is the reasoning behind the DH in the back and the Manuraptor in the front? Is that supposed to be Mutanoraptor? And what's up with WTB and all the different raptor names for their tires! Sheesh! Makes it hard to keep em all straight.
I'm currently running the stock IRC Mythos 1.95s that came with the Marin.....they seem okay....but what the hell do I know...I've only been riding for a year. Wider is better to a certain degree eh?
Now playing: Big Country: The Crossing.....What ever happened to these guys?? I forgot how good this album is!
What are you currently riding NOO? And what does NOO stand for anyway!?

Noo, you left out one other very important similarity:
the rather magnanamous cranial size!
But then there's the open question of whether BG could squeeze his ample body into that tiny Martian suit?
Rim break squeel can usually be effectively eliminated by proper canting of the break pads.
November 15th, 2002, 05:01 PM
Kazoo feels badly that he has to expose Fattie
Kazoo just saw a slow speed chase on CNN, Big Game driving a white Bronco with Fattie Freak in the back seat
Kazoo knows that Fattie doesn’t want to hurt himself
Kazoo got a private message from Fattie with a lame reason he has extra posts
Kazoo thinks that Todd is giving Fattie bad legal advice and Todd is mad that Kazoo is cooler than he is
Kazoo thinks that MMc will eventually get to the bottom of this with his many questions.
BTW a properly inflated tire is less likely to pinch flat.....

I did mean Mutanoraptor. Believe it or not I am busy these days trying to drive business and don't have time to edit my posts.
Tires depend on where you ride. Sidewall strength, tread design, and size allow one to run different PSI depending on the conditions. My setup works well for the type of singletrack I ride (rock and root infested) and affords me very few pinch flats. Also can add a bit of additional 'supsension' to the bike. I tend to be light on the bike anyway but like to have the larger tires under me.
I cannot offer too much personal information on this forum so I cannot answer your other personal questions. I have political ambitions to think of. I can't sell software forever (oh! too much personal info)
I am worrysome of these Wood Pecker and Kazoo characters...
Under my guise, we have beer at work on Fridays at 4:00. It is a good thing.
November 15th, 2002, 05:59 PM
MMc-
I will tell you I predominantly ride a hardtail. I like the 'twitchy" responsiveness and handling. It also forces me to rely on bike handling skills to get me through the tech terrain, albeit a bit slower these days.
However, next season I'll be on a FS/XC rig and one of the hardtails will be a singlespeed with a front suspension.

NOO, you have nothing to fear from me, I am simply a harmless cartoon character!
(Just keep your arms down when you're around me!)
Now as for Kazoo, don't let his small size and innocent demeanor lull you into a false sense of security.
I believe he may have the potential to do evil.

Ahhh....so your sage advice to my SS questions comes from a common situation of sorts eh NOO?
Beer on Fridays.....I like that......they do that at Mrs. MMc's place....but they sometimes start earlier than 4.......blast them! My place of employment would frown highly upons such antics unfortunately.
As for Kazoo....well I always thought it his real name was the Great Gazoo....but I could be wrong and haven't brushed up on my Hanna Barberra cartoons lately.
What are the advantages of riser bars over flat bars with bar-ends? Or are their no real advantages or disadvantages....just one's personal preference?

Kazoo, Fattie, Woody... you are all my brothers.
Mr. Cheeze, you annoy me to no great end. Yet, I still love you, my son.
Mr. Moderator, you can strike down my posts, blasphemer, but Jesus will live on. Besides, I know about your undersized genitalia.
BTW, it is extremely gay to secure an action figure like The Tick to the front of one's bike.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but Fattie has not "upped his post count." Incase you have not figured this out yet, there is a Board Of Directors board, which Fattie is allowed access to. The general Members (All of us) cannot read these posts and have not idea that Fattie is actually making them (hence why you think he has a post count of 70). Investigation over.
Also, do you really care about your post count? From what I have seen it really does not matter that much on this Forum, since there are so many banal topics / replies that should just be removed. Quantitly has absolutely nothing to do with quality, on any forum on the net.

Fattie appreciates the truth but wonders why you would think that by speaking it you would be perceived as "jerk"?
November 16th, 2002, 10:31 AM
Kazoo hopes that Kevin can find inner peace and stop calling himself a jerk
Kazoo understands that BOD members have posts that are not viewable by everyone
Kazoo also knows that Fattie contacted him to state that there is a secret layer of users on this forum that not even the BOD can access and that there is a covert government organization called "Shimano" behind the whole thing and Kazoo is in danger
Kazoo is afraid of Todd because Todd is 4’ taller than Kazoo
Kazoo over and out..........
BTW it is a good idea to grease your seatpost before installing it into your frame
