So wonderful when it's hot, so awful when it's cold! :o

Speeeewwww!!! :P Yucko, coffee is soo gross. The only time I like it is when I'm breathing its scent- it smells good, but tastes... :P I even milk and heavily sugar flavored coffee! ;D
But then, cold bottled coffees are good.. Starbuck's is halfway decent, and their little cans of espresso remind me of Cappio, from way back in the day...

Cold coffee that is supposed to be cold is good. But hot coffee gone cold is nasty.

Coffee gets me through the morning. ;D

Is there a way of putting coffee in your cambelbak? So that it stays hot, of course.

Either that or an IV that puts it staight into my viens.

Coffee, its my lunch right now, it was my breakfast. I love coffee! sometimes when I skip a cup in the morning, I get these massive headaches and become very grumpy! Do you think I have a problem? My wife freaks out on how much sugar I add. We sell coffee at the bike shop which is great, all Saturday I'm drinking the stuff by the gallon! It's scary that I can't function like a normal human without coffee. Oh well. On super cold winter rides a friend carries coffee in a thermos in his camelback and shares it during the breaks. Hot Chai isn't so bad if you like sweet stuff, good buzz.

Pasqual's in SantaFe, NM has the world's best coffee!

Amen to your comments above Sir Red Butt! In fact, I didn't get my usual supply of coffee this morning and I've got a screamin headache as a result (or could that be the result of three last minute meetings called by my boss today1?)

My older brother used to purposefully wait for his coffee to get lukewarm in the morning and then he'd chug it down just before heading out the door to go to campus and classes! Ugh!

What's the best cold coffee that's supposed to be served cold? Those new Starbucks espresso cans are pretty damned good. Anything that you've had that can top that? If so, let me know.

I'd don't know if I'd be able to do this MTB crap w/o coffee. (or continue with this thing called life, for that matter).

I've had about 7 cups so far today. I like it black (yes, like my men...yes, I realize that's bad enough to earn a disingenuous "ha"). That way I don't have to waste precious seconds waiting for milk to be poured or sugar to be dissolved before I get my fix.

But seriously, I can quit anytime.

Those bottled Starbucks Frappaccinos are pretty good. I have not tried their double espresso cans, but I've GOT to try one.

I usually put a packet of Equal and some CoffeeMate powder in my joe. Milk/cream makes me fart. That's nice for me, but my coworkers can do without the torture. ;D

Last minute meetings piss me off.

Ya gotta try their double espresso cans. Not cheap but damned good.

As for my java, I just drink it black. What got me hooked on java was working one of my summer jobs while in college at a local hot dog plant back in Rochester. I worked in a refrigerated room at the back end of a packaging machine putting hot dog packages into cases of 24. During the summer we ran two shifts and my morning shift started at 5:00. So I needed the java to both wake up (especially if we went out drinking the night before) and stay warm!

IAB,

maybe if you dumped the adulterants, the coffee would taste better independant of temperature.

Coffee black = good :)
Coffee plus other stuff = foul :P
Flavored coffee = whale barf ::)

A local bakery puts up refrigerated extra strong coffee for iced coffee in the summer, which I choose with no ice. Good.

best coffee for many miles. I know I have tried it all, in the US and many places in the EU

if you have a chance stop in to motomarket on rt 2a in acton

Lavazza-freshly ground----into LaCimbali machine=awesome

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
no matter where you get it, the best coffee is Lavazza and it has to be made as a shot of espresso (which can then be made into coffee, or latte, or whatever...) through a LaCimbali machine. no other machine, no other coffee.

that is, if you want the powerful flavor and italian style.

Coffee disgusts me! Nothing smells worse on the breath than cofee and cigarettes! When I get up in the morning the only thing I want to be high on is life! A good friend of mine told me that if you don't wake up when you first open your eyes, and instead try to "catnap", you are wasting 40% of your days energy trying to go back to sleep. I've done it ever since. I think he was right. Whenever I do try to sleep an extra hour or two on Sunday morning I'm shot for the rest of the day.
When I do need caffeine it's Dew, Sunkist, or Jolt all the way!

you should take some advice from your lackey Big Game...Life is too short not to embrace the pleasures of the Coffee Bean...

Black is the only way to drink it.

So Gump, you have a problem with people who smoke and drink coffee, huh?

I guess I'll have to switch to cigars.

And NOO, I am not Gumpy's lackey. I am more of a crony.

Too All: I'm trying to hit 201 by 3:30 today. I'm getting close but I'm running out of ideas (yet that really hasn't stopped me before). I could use you help.

I have to agree somewhat with Sylvan. I do like the smell. I worked in a coffee house/ice cream parlor for a year making espresso, capuccino, latte and the like but I never got into drinking it. I'm more of a Hot Chocolate fan. IBC Root Beer Floats kick ass as well.

Black as death, strong as hell, and sweet as love...

I LOVE good coffee - check out these links for some of the best stuff on the planet:
www.peets.com
www.taylormaidfarms.com - they make a nice extra caffeinated blend for those "slow" days.

Just remember that there is no such thing as strong coffee, only weak people!!!

Ditto here.

I love coffee too, but it does clear the system.
Not suggested just prior to a winter ride for me. :)

Hey guys, let's get this conversation back to mountain biking!

Here's a tip:
If you drink a lot of strong coffee before a ride, bring spare socks. :P

When riding in cold weather / winter I usually fill one water bottle with coffee. I wouldn't reccomend a whole camelback though. You would spend more time turning the snow yellow than you would riding.
