I am looking to get a little more travel out of my stumpjumer fsr/xc disk. I would like 100mm front and rear.
Can anyone recommend a pair of shocks that would do the job. I do drops ,but not much higher than 3 ft. Most of my riding consist of single track(lots of rocks and roots) .
Help!

EVIL BOOTY,
For the rear try http://www.betd.co.uk they make an assortment of rear suspension upgrades for Kona and Specialized. They give you more travel without the need for a different rear shock.
For the front I am a die-hard Marzocchi Bomber user. They work better than Rock Shox and Manitau and can be serviced easily without the need to send them back to the manufacturer.

Marzocchi all the way. The worst thing that can happen to once is that you need to replace the seals and add oil. The ride is awesome and the price for the Z1 wedge is ok. Maybe, if you're a heavy rider, you'll have to replace with stiffer springs. I'd only go with an air fork if I was racing. Otherwise, you won't notice the extra pounds, but will appreciate the plush ride.
(So Gungywump, is this our pennance for being ball-busting s.o.b.s?)

Hey, we may bust some stones in the "General Discussions" but, ask a tech question and it's all about solid good advice!

You have been forgiven..lol.. The marzzocchi you are talking about . Is it a triple clamp type?

I would like to go on record as saying that I am in no way aligning myself with the fellas from CT, but..I too would suggest a Marzocchi upfront and hear is why:
THEY ARE BOMBPROOF (as much as a well used fork can be).
Basic seal and oil maintenance are all that is required. I ride a fair amout and bring mine in (yes to the LBS) for service 2X a season. I have ridden Rock Shox and Manitou and the Zochs are the top dog and don't get your pants in a bunch about the weight.
In a continued attempt to a "lucid exchange" of ideas as recommended by Sir Gumpness in a previous post I will leave you with this...
I still ride a 1999 Marzocchi Z2 BAM and it is top fork I have ever tried. I have used longer travel forks and sampled some of the more recent technology but I lile my Z2 BAM..of course I tend to be old school or retro depending on who you ask for definition.
I should mention that the Fox forks get rave reviews and my LBS is pushing one on me for the ride I am procuring this winter.
I have spouted a bit here and I hope I have adhered to the new rules of the forum. ;D

I forgot to add that you will experience a bit longer "break in period" with the Zoch than with some of the others...
Since Gumpness works at LBS feel free to jump in here...I am anything but a tech weenie so be careful when heeding my advice...
But, I do not live in MA...

Evil One:
Actually, the Z1 wedge is a the most travel you can get with a single crown. It's a 5 whopping inches. Some of the older Junior T's are double (or triple?) clamps with 5 inches.
If you wanted to stick with 4 inches, I would suggest looking for a used Marzocchi Z1. Just make sure the stancions aren't all beat up (like mine are). Otherwise, if you replace the seals, it will be as good as new. Beware, some of the not-too-old-ones don't have disc mounts, so take a look first.

B.G. I didn't see the wedge ,but I like the looks of the fr sl. Bit pricey. I don't think I can spend 500+ on a fork. I will have nothing for the rear..lol It is nice though. :(

Sorry. I misunderstood you. $400 for both is a good price. It should be a bitchin set up when you're done.

And to those of you thinking I'm just trying to collect stars by bantering with the Evil One instead of sending a message (for which you don't receive any stars), I have to tell you, you're so right.
I have news for you. I'm going to collect all the stars. Ha ha ha! And then I'm going for all of the green clovers.

gungywump, Thanks for the tip on the rear suspension.I picked up the link from b.e.t.d. and installed it this morn.
I now have 125mm(psylo xc) in the front and 120mm in the rear. Perfect for my needs. Can't wait to get out there and see how it gonna work..
