This is a strange survey!
Why not a poll of Cross-Country Forks and a seperate survey for Freeride Forks and another for Downhill Forks. The way this survey is set up you may as well have asked what kind of fork do you prefer. A SID World Cup, a Fox 125mm, and a Marzocchi T are for 3 different styles of riding!

Which fork would I want is a tough quesion. I have sherman sliders on right now, but next week who knows. I can't seem to find the perfect fork. I like the fact that dual crowns are stiffer, but I think they look stupid. I think I was happier with my bike when I had my psylo sl's on it. But they have only 5 inches of travel. I just have to be satisfied with my forks now and end this dilema which is mostly in my screwed up head. My rig looks sweet now, but I'm not completely happy with how the bike looks. Maybee next week I'll be riding a bullit. Hmm? Knucklepuster

Knuclewhatever,
PLEASE ride your bike before you change any more parts. Are you looking at the fork while you are riding? I don’t look at my bike at all while I'm riding. Have a little fun on the bike and all your negative thoughts about bike shops, mismatched forks, US foreign policy and the like will probably subside.

Yeah, that bike is all done. I got to do some riding. I've been down in the dumps depressed with no energy, the job market sucks. I'm making **** money and upset so my motivation is down and all I do all day is obsess over bike parts. That bike is done, I'm gonna do some riding this weekend somewhere, then next spring, I'm gonna start workin on a bullit if I'm making some money. Knucklebreaker

Knuckles,
Put away your camelback and put down the crack pipe. You're rambling man! You sound like rain man. Yeah, gotta go riding, definately gotta go riding.

Biking is more rider than rig. I own a specialized stumpy pro with an 03 fox vanilla fork, but I can't take it home til the fork arrives so I have to ride my other bike- a raleigh m50 with a **** suntour fork that doesn't function right. Up until last week that was the best bike I ever owned. The fact that it has all recreational components and the frame was made in China never discouraged me from riding 2-3 hours a day just practicing my skills and balance. On my trusty (but crapy) steed I learned how to handle 4 foot root drops and learn a lot of really cool trials techniques. With my raleigh, I couldn't go hucking because my bike and bones would break. This forced me to perfect my technique. When I bring my stumpy home, I will have a better bike that will allow me to become even better and start racing. The moral of the story is that you should build your skills at a faster rate than your bike.

Gungy is right, not a resonable question as asked.
Having said that I'll add my two cents regarding the new crop of '03 forks.
I'm getting a Santa Cruz Blur frame to build up.
My first thought (and purchase) ??? was a Rock Shox Sid Team with remote lock-out. It's killer light BUT only has 80mm travel which I am learning would be marginal on this frame.
SO i'm putting on the pounds for a 125mm which has me eyeing the Fox Talas RLC and the Rock Shox Psylo Race.
To me at first glance, the Psylo is more bang for your buck at $420 vs $695 e-tail.
Both have remote lockout which is too cool a feature to pass up.
The RS Pyslo is a proven design.
Yeah, Fox can make rear shocks but I think the jury may still be deliberating their fork credentials and the TALAS is bleeding edge!

In my opinion the remote lockout shouldn't be the deciding point for the shock. It is not as trick as you would think. I have the '03 SID Team with the remote. It is real convenient to lock the fork out but when you reach over to hit the button to unlock it, the lever swings around and hits your thumb preventing it from disengaging all the way on the first try. It is easier to reach down and turn the dial. I might try moving it to the other side of my bars which is not how RS suggests mounting it. Besides that the color of the remote lever is all wrong on my bike. It is such an embarrassment! To make it worse the cable housing for the lockout is a braided wire made by Jagwire and they don't make that style of housing in a sifter housing. I know this as a fact because I talked to the people at Jagwire. What will I do? ;)
I have had a few rides on the new Fox Forxs and was very impressed. I didn't ride the Talas or anything with a remote lockout so I can't comment on the design but I would give them a try.
By the way, Rock Shox seems to still have problems with production. My SID is not right inside. When I get the time I will pull it apart and rebuild it myself. Or maybe I will just buy a new bike where all the parts match ;)
