View Full Version : ARCADIA INTEMEDIATE RIDE 11/3/02

October 28th, 2002, 12:28 PM
Moderate pace ride with some pretty decent technical sections. Nothing too serious or that can't be hiked thru. Ride starts at 9am at ledges parking lot. About 2 hours or so.

Directions: Take Rt. 165 west past the white church and the main parking lot. Go another mile or so and turn right onto Escoheag Hill Road. Follow about a mile and turn right onto Austin Farm Road (dirt). Take almost immediate right again and park at end.

Orange is mandatory!

Hard to believe but some of us plan on staying in RI that weekend. I've been to the fall fiesta in the past and it's no big deal trust me. :o

Wow, maybe you should change your name to Anti-NEMBA-Mike!

Yeah!!....us Rhodies will start our own Anti-non-RhodeIsland-riding supermilitant faction who refuse to recognize the authority of the NEMBA mothership, instead deferring to an eliteist organization known as RIMBA. Our color shall be orange (hunting season, ya know), and we shall be Anti-Cannondale (made in Conn.) and we shall only ride Giants (AC airlite in fashionable blue/white paintschemes). We shall also fight other states for land ownership as to incorperate their prime riding trails into our own state (I vote for Bluff Point to be the first to be absorbed into the RhodeIsland Collective, as our state and personaes shall be known).
This will be a daunting challenge to say the least, so i shall also selflessly nominate myself as the absolute head of the Collective, and Carsion as my second in command. Now, come forth my brothers ans sisters to claim what is rightfully ours!!!!!

That sounds about as plausible an idea as a gold bike. ;)

Sorry to do this, however, have to cancel the ride.

I knew you'd see things my way. Normally, I'd say that my patience has been rewarded, however, I know I can't take all of the credit. A Solid Gold Bike sort of sells itself.

I'm very glad to have you aboard. Your input will be greatly appreciated for a female-specific Solid Gold Bike. Our prototype is coming along nicely, it's a real looker (and climbs like you wouldn't believe).

Not interested, but thanks. My little cheapo bike is fine for me. Besides, I'm more of a silver gal myself. Not much into gold... :P

Dear Sylvan:

Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you had to save face by posting you weren't into Solid Gold bikes.

But anyway, in response to the confidential message you just sent me, yes, I will be at the CT-NEMBA Fiesta this Sunday. I hope to see you there too. I won't be signing any autographs, but I will have pictures of the solid gold bike that you seem, well, quite anxious to see.

Although I am new to this whole messaging thing on the NEMBA post, rest assured, I will not let anyone know of your secret.

Your Pal,

Big Game

PS: If you want any more pictures of me, in your next posting write:

"What a freaknik. I'll be at work on Sunday.
And may I reiterate: "My little cheapo bike is fine for me." "

Then I'll know you're serious.

Can I take the opportunity to interest you in a Platinum Bike??
