Anyone have any good crash and burn shots? I'm sure that there must be some out there.
Here is one of a buddy on a rock ledge drop (the Mangler) from a few years back. It's a really good example of what not to do. Unfortunately, it is just before the wreck, but you can tell from the pix that things are surely going awry given that he is sort of sideways on the ledge.
Enjoy!

Hey JT,
Was he still peddling? I did that once and I peddled about thirty seconds before my body realized it was upside down.

I'm just glad my friends don't bring their cameras.
My buddy did a good one at Nembafest tho.
He rides a rigid and tried a 3 ft rock drop. Immediate endo on the head. Seeing stars after that one.
He's sending his broken helmet back for replacement. ;)

I found some more pix. This one is awesome. It is why Howie Rock is called Howie Rock. The guy (Howie) hit it fast and endo'd catching me on the way down. Fortunately the broken rock scree slowed his fall ;)

This one got ugly fast. This pix is towards the beginning of the crash, which involved flailing bikes and bodies. Ah, good old fashioned carnage!

Nice! Those Nam ones are on a scary drop. It's big, like 12' to a sweet tranny, but then right into a big gap dirt jump. Sick.

Funny, in all of the rants about the stunts at Vietnam being built/torn down, the builders not taking responsibility for themselves, but indirectly assuming responsibility for the users of their stunts and the owners of the land we all enjoy so much, blaming NEMBA for all of the press, etc., not one person has ever mentioned what will truly jeopardize the trails there - having a rider miss a landing and being med-flighted out. Unfortunately there will be a day when someone hurts themselves very badly. That's what will draw the non-riding public's and landowners' attention to the area.
Be careful out there, stop the "freerider"/"cross country" rant, and step up and assume responsibility/liability when the time comes. No more finger pointing - it's a waste of time and energy.
Unfortunately the builder of the stunts in Milford has made himself very well known, and if someone does get hurt critically or, God forbid, fatally . . . Well, there's alot to be said for being discreet.

Fair point made.
It is a wonder there are not reports of people needing assist outta there. I have never heard one. Lucky, cuz many try those drops.
Hey Splat...
Ever hear of someone needing assist outta Nam?

I have herd of people getting hurt very badly in the Nam, I my self Broke 2 ribs in there in february, I have not herd of any major injuries due to the stunt in question.
That said, I have had offline discussions with Nemba official and found the stance to be hypocrital, I am Not going to re-open that can of worms I am just going to step away.

What would be the problem with just a drop. To have a drop to tranny then a jump right at the bottom is plain stupid I think, but I guess for some the drop alone is not enough. I'm surprised no one has gotten killed on that one. I'd try the drop, but not with that jump at the bottom. Oh yeah, I said it before. If you crack yer fuckin head open, don't sue anybody. I already had to get rid of my dirt bikes, atv's due to a few *******s that have basically made this state into a non-friendly motorized vehicle state. Next thing will be mountain bikes, and if they make that illegal, someone is gonna die. I still gotta make it to nam with you guys and splat. One of these weekends. I did Franklin yesterday in the rain. That place is a totally rock infested nightmare. Worst is the wet leaves covering the jagged wet rocks that infest every square inch of that bump ass place. I feel like my kidneys are up in my throat today. Is Nam as brutal as Franklin with the rocks. I fell off the bike 6 times, nice and sore today. bike is nice and dirty and I'm too burnt to even clean it. F-IT. Knuckle

Sup KnuckKnuck...
Got some nerve riding Franklin in the rain. It twists all over the fricken place. This fall riding on wet leaves is hell in my opinion, but we gotta do it.
You better not be crashing in the sweet ride, huh? Tell me you were out in your beater.
Try to join us for a ride this weekend. Evil is whoopin up something for us on Sunday morn.

Nope on the gemeni. Crashed and burned 6 times, nothing major just riding along and then ya know. oomph the bike stops and your balls slam agains the stem caus you hit a nice wedge rock under some leaves. I got ******* so lost over there. somehow I came out on King st. Drove all the way back to washington st. up grove street to the powerlines and back to my car. I got to my car at about 6pm in the pitch dark. I had to get out of the woods since it was dark at 4 and then I drove down king st towards RI about 5 miles, asked a guy where the hell I was and then I had to back track. ******* nightmare and yes, ******* A # 1 ******* idiot. My legs peddaled where they never thought they could yesterday. And yes, fall riding in the leaves and mud is hell. My arms, back, legs and knees are spent. F-ING SPENT. Good thing a buddy came over last nite with a couple Vic's. There is a god. Knuckle
