View Full Version : Our World Champion Patriots...

Pats were pathetic Sunday....turnovers (the one with Faulk was done right embarassing), stupid penalties, run defense....terrible.
This was on boston.com and very fitting...they could use some help....

What the hell was that fumble play near the end of the 2nd half? ???
I'm a Rams fan myself, but it's good to see the Pats do well. I hold no grudge over last year's Super Bowl.

There is no explanation, everyone just stopped...no whistle..no dead ball..yet the Pats sat there (after they missed a lateral?)...Green Bay then turned around and scored..
Anyway, tough year for the Rams...good to see they got a victory...without Warner and against the red hot Raiders nonetheless... Marshall Faulk=BAD ASS
Glad to hear you want to Pats to do well...I know some of you CT folks align yourselves with NY and end up Giants, Mets, Jets, Yankees Fans...however, CT is in New England and NY is not...

It took five games for the Rams' coach to realize running Marshall Faulk leads to victories. ::)
Lots of New York fans around these parts. Yankees, Mets, Giants, Knicks, etc. I hate all New York teams.....except maybe the Islanders.
The Pats need to do something about that run defense. It is KILLING them. Two weeks and they play Denver. Denver always runs the ball well.

I are Cercopithecidae,
Agreed. The Pats need to stop the run, get TD's when they are in the red zone, and avoid penalties and turnovers that give the opponents a second try on third and fourth downs...
The Islanders have Garth Snow...grew up in MA and went to U Maine...some new england pride...

Buffalo's got this Bledsoe guy that's throwing for like 300-400 yards a game. Really opens up the run. Imagine what he could do with a decent runningback and a good defense like the Pats!!
Oh, wait that's right. The Pats let him go and hung their future on a quarterback like the one the Giants had that led them to a Super Bowl after Phil Sims was hurt. What was his name? Can't remember? I think I made my point.
Peace

Correction to my earlier post: I don't hate the Bills either. But I don't consider them New York. Upstate New York does not count. ;D
Bledsoe is playing phenomenal ball.

The superficial rhetorical question would be "But New Jersey swampland is New York?"
But you do have a point , Buffalo is more midwest than north east. It is out there.
And your second point is correct as well. Bledsoe is kicking some arse out there. Thank you Patriots. Bledsoe is Kelly, Henry is Thomas, Moulds is Reed, Price is Beebe. All we need is a Bruce Smith on D and a Steve Tasker on special teams. Then its another 4 straight AFC championships!
(Now for those of you a little "slow" with the put-downs, you now have an opening a mile wide to make an obvious joke about Buffalo not winning a Superbowl. I hope you appreciate this.)

Phil Mickelson is the known as the greatest golfer never to win a major. The Buffalo Bills are greatest football team never to win a superbowl (but had the luxury to go the 'dance' four years in a row).
1991 - lost to the Giants
1992 - lost to the Redskins
1993 - lost to the Cowboys
1994 - yet another loss to the Cowboys....
I was still in college for the first three of those superbowls and all I thought about come late January was skipping class to ski (while surviving another semester with a strong academic showing - sort of) and watching the freakin superbowl....it was time to gamble, win or lose, and settle in at the campus bar for the long haul....each year I picked the Bills and each year I was slowly tormented...I lived through perhaps the greatest superbowl losing streak we will ever witness...
As for the Patriots, they came from a series of losses, not the least of which their franchise quarterback, to win it all my friend...true champions...not runner-ups...and they didn't get four tries to do it...my experiences of past disappointment with Bills were replaced with a feat conquered by my own Pats...World Champs... the team who threw individual introductions at the Superbowl out the window in favor of being introduced as a TEAM...

Glad to hear Bledsoe is doing well. He now has something to prove..basically a fire under his ass!
Remember waiting game after game for Bledsoe to get that "fire and his ass"? The kind Parcels lit for him earlier on.
Maybe now he can light one on his own. Part of growing up I suppose. Good luck to Drew and the Bills.
Our Patriots always seem to need the "dope slap" of a terrible game from time to time. The kinda game that gets the fans shouting "You Suck!" Back to reality. maybe now they will get a "fire under their ass" and onto Victory!
ps
Is it OK to say "ass" on this channel?
I forgot this is a family show, huh?

Just for the record, I live in upstate NY (near Albany) and I hate the Giants. It was like a day of mourning after the Yankees got whipped. ;D Better luck next year, George. Spend another $100m and buy better players.

Try $140 million. Except, now with a luxury tax (I believe it will be at $117 mil) it's going to cost them even more to buy all of those great up and coming players on the A's, Angels, and the Twins when those teams can no longer afford to pay them. But that won't stop Georgie-porgie.
And let's not worry about the Pats just yet. With the schedule they have, nobody expected them to go 16 and 0. The bye week comes at the right time. I think they'll be ok. But that game in Oakland coming up in a month... that worries me.

I don't know how much someone would have to pay me to go to a patriots game in the freezing cold rain, and then they lose. F - that. Actually, I don't know how much someone would have to pay me to go to a football game anyhow. My hatred of football does work out for me though, since I don't watch football, it helps out in the wife department when it comes to buying bike parts. Kevin

That's brilliant Kev!
I'm trying that.
"Honey I F***ing hate football now! I'm going out to buy a new bike...be right back."
I'll let you know how it goes. ;)
