the 24 hours race in Dalton might be that weekend. I know they are aiming for late June, however it might be the same weekend it was last year. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the hint but unfortunetely since the MTB is part of a 3 days adventure race the dates cannot be change..

Hopefully they will see our posting and they will not have their race the same weekend

tks again

It's part of the 24 hours of adrenaline series, the likelihood of the date changing is extremely unlikely. They were talking about the dates the next week after the race. That's one of the problems with events. Usually a lot of things get planned for the same day. This year PedrosFest, 24 Hours of Great Glen, a Westfield Road Race, and a Double Points CT MTB race were all the same weekend. It was a shame seeing as how I wanted to do everything.

I am presently talking with Stuart Dorland the owner of the 24 hours of Adrenaline to make a 75 miler a qualifier for his World Solo Championship at the end of the season.

In a way it's good that their is enough race around that you have alternatives.I put together the Jay challenge to attract people in the jay area.Very few people knows the area and the Mountians are just spectacular

Tks again to keep me posted of what is going on arround

Decisions Decisions Kevin...What a tangled web we weave....This years Nembafest is the same day as the Longview Last Blast (an EFTA race)...not to mention getting some Family Time in...

Looks like that Jay Peak MTB race only has one race class? I am a beginner racer. If I race with all those hard-core guys, I would get pummelled.

Yeah, it was bad but PedrosFest was once again worth it.

Boon - Most endurance races have only one category. Usually the people doing 75 miles on a mountain bike is a masocist and there are unfortuantely not enough of them. If they started spliting up the categories... some categories would be wicked small. basically, the people that go are just out to say they did it and let the psycho's go at the prizes.

Jay actually sounds like fun. Some of the races I have looked into seem to be road bike races on mountain bikes. If I am going to race my mountain bike, I want to have technical challenges, big freakin hills, mud, hike-a-bike, the works! It should be like a regular ride only with a little more adrenalin and no rest breaks, not an excuse to ride in the big chainrings.

The psychos are pretty inspiring! For the breif moments you see them during races, you can learn alot. Also, I like to rap with them after races (if they are still there when I finish) in order to learn some tips and tricks. Don't let the gonzos keep you from a race, they were beginners once too.

I have a friend that skis there a lot and saw the mountain is "pretty sick." It's probably worth the drive up the way he raves about it... even if skiing and biking are totally different sports.

Are there any downhill races worth going to in the new england area. I'd imagine that watching a 24 hour race is not all that fun. Kevin

I know that Bromont Mountain in the Eastern Township has a huge downhill crowd and are the host of the world downhill championship sometimes in june.

That is about 45 minutes away from Jay
