This is our cat Cadence (seen here with the wife's road bike...notice they match).

Our other cat Velocity. She gave both our mountain bikes flat tires by using them as a scratching post. Personally, I think she just wants to ride.

Baboon, I'll have to take a picture of my new terror. A seal tip siamese. It's a male, 3 months old and a terror. I kicked it out of our bedroom where he usually sleeps. I opened up the windows last night to let in some of that Hawii air and the cat started going nuts. I kicked him out of the bedroom and this morning I went to take a dump and the cushioned toiled seat was torn to shreds. I'll take a pic of that too. That cats a frign menace, but I love him to death. If he wasnt so damn cute, he'd be dead by now. PEACE Kevin

OK, so this here is Molly a 2 year old African Grey parrot, sits behind me and chatters away while I type. yes it talks , won't shut up! Says "Peter" ,"don't bite mama", "no" , " Merry Christmas", "Ho Ho Ho" ( gonna kill my wife for that those 2 ), "hello" "hi" "I'm a rat" and seams to be learning more and more every day . I'm trying to get "I'm a Rat with wings " but so far just "I'm a rat "

Another cat person is me. Here is my newest, unassuming terror that seems to thrive on doing whatever it is that annoys the **** out of me. The noisier the toy the better.

If I had a digicam, I'd nab a picture of Catzilla. He's a cat (obviously) and has a deformed vocal-cord (or whatever a cat uses to produce their meow) which provides for a meow that sounds like no other and a purr that sounds more like a grunt. He's exceptionally cute when he rubs up against my oilly chain.

I was just noticing that. From the looks of this string, mountain bikers are cat people. Is that because we can leave them a pile of food and a box of litter and go ride for a couple of days at the Kingdom Trails without concern for them? Is it because they like to rub their faces on knobby tires? Are we jealous of their traction, jumping, landing, and climbing abilities?

This guy is approximately 16 years old. Some days he acts like a pup and romps with boundless energy, followed by a three hour nap, dinner and early to bed. His epics, much like mine have grown shorter.

Nigel was picked up at the pound when he was full grown, at least a year old but we have no way of really knowing.
It was his last day at the pound, so he was rescued just in time. When we picked him up we second guessed ourselves, now I think how short sighted that was.

The photo was taken last year while we were xcountry skiing. He sure love the snow.

Nigel has grown to be part of the family. I sure hope he understands how much he means to us.

Peace and healthy pets!

Here's Shasta, a fourteen? year old mut, still running! She's got some Lab or Retriever in her blood, loves the water, and can keep up with the mt. bike for an hour or two. Pretty amazing for a dog her age. Occasionally she's a little stiff in the hips, but otherwise is in great shape. She was maybe a year old when I got her. Wow, sure are lots of cat people on this list!

Here's a shot of my two rescue dogs. Bailey is the Black Lab/Siberian Husky Mix and Missy is the Terrier/Some sort of herding breed mix.

They are both incredible dogs and I'm blessed to have them in my life, especially now! ;D

Here's a better picture of Missy than the one attached: http://www.chinook.org/missy.jpeg
And a better one of Bailey as well: http://www.chinook.org/baily.jpeg

And we have a cat....stay tuned for Eddie's shot.

Here's our buddy, Darwin, this last Saturday!

The picture is very deceiving - he's a very tall dog - almost 26"!
(If we had any idea how deep the powder was going to be,
we probably wouldn't have taken him.)

New theory on why mountain bikers are cat people. Our wives like to have something to talk to while we are gone. The big cat on the left is Bela named after Bela Lugosi and the little one on the right is Andrew named after the "T" station where my wife found him on hew way to work. He was only four weeks old and was way to young to be seperated from his mother. He had obviously been left there by somebody who wanted to get rid of him. My wife grabed him just as he was headed toward the tracks and wasn't able to put him down.

Here's Mr. Angel Fish. At 3 years and running he certainly qualifies as a long term denizen of the fish tank. He is depicted here prepared to pounce on a flake of tetramin.

Only a picture of Jake though. He does do too well as a MTB dog. He can't keep up and I think it is cruel to make him try.

Before my brother moved out of our apartment there was a cat here...and this is his story,(someday I'll make a song out of it). His name is Hoops, I don't know how he got it. My bro rescued him after his next door neighbors Meth lab/ apartment got raided by the FBI, not a joke he saw it happen. The last time he was at the vets office he was about 26 lbs :o, He is absolutely insane, and understandably so, he had it pretty tough. He doesn't have to jump up on the table because he can just reach up and grab whatever it is he wants, as long as nobodys looking. I actually saw him just the other day. It looks like he's been on a diet, he must be down to about 17 lbs, Wow! I'll find a picture of him it's an astounding sight!!

Sparkster, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Gus.

Pets are like a best friend. Sometimes even better than a best friend, because they never judge you and they are always there to comfort you.

Losing a pet really sucks, and the worst thing is that you don't always get a sympathetic ear from some people. Non-pet owners often don't understand how deep those bonds go.

My sympathies!!!

Spark, call me a sicko, but it hurts me more that your cat has died than some people. I can't stand people that hurt cats. I love my gatos. THEY FRICKN RULE. See here's my theory on cats. Ever notice how a cat can just enter a state of altered consciousness and nothing ever seems to bother them. Cat's have their mental **** down. Now this next bit is far out so stay with me here. Hold your cat, and gently swoop its ears back a bit, stretching the skin back a bit. Notice something, like an extraterrestrial resemblence? Exactly. Egyptians knew what was up, and so do I. I often see my cat looking up at the ceiling for a half hour some times, like it's receiving commands from outer space. If you ever look a cat in the eye, it's like staring into outer space as well. My theory in a nutshell? Cats are put here on Earth to send information back to their commanders in outer space as they are collecting data on this experiment we call life on earth. I'm dead serious here folks. Yeah cats play and stuff, but look at your average dog and you get the feeling of "Duh, Gee Deputy" Now look at your gato(cat). You can definitely sense a higher sense of being and intellegence. You think I'm nuts right? I suppose you think the Egyptians were nuts as well right? Well answer the question as to why there are so many mysteries that encompass Egypt and then ask youself what the most coveted animal was over there during that time. Cats. They're into more than your cabinets, countertops and flower vases. Be nice to your cat. You'll be glad you did someday. knuck

My girls are 16 weeks old.. and the cutest damn things! ::)They were without their mom when they were 3-4 weeks... when someone brought the mom to a shelter and they noticed she was a nursing mother.... took them awhile to find the babies...
A shredded toilet seat was not to bad... one of mine ended up in the toilet.
One of them was sick last week and ended up in the hospital for a week.. with fabric stuck in her tummy that she could not pass... her sister became so depressed she would not eat or drink.. thank goodness they are together again...
