Thinking of replacing my hardtail frame with a Santa Cruz Superlight.
Any comments on the Superlight?
Any thoughts on the new Brain Suspension available on the 2003 Specialized Line?

The superlite is a great bike! Takes a serious beating and loves it. If you do any significant huckin' I would recommend a heckler or bullit. If xc is your bag and you like to go fast and yes, superlight, then you got the right bike.
One complaint depends on frame size. I have a large frame and the single pivot can cause the rear to sway a little on the off camber stuff. My wife has a small and it does not sway at all. They solved that problem with the blur, but good luck finding one in the next decade...
I also heard the 2003 superlite will have replaceable dropouts, but can not confirm. Happy pedaling!

Rumor has it that the VPP technology on the Blur is "wicked pissa" and the pricepoint seems reasonable (relative)... but I agree, in the near term getting your hands on one will be like winning the megabucks without a ticket....not happening....Santa Cruz is a 20 person company only making a certain amount of frames each year.....
I think Intense is using the same VPP rear end on some of their bikes?????
