I'm a looking at my calender and I notice that it is getting close to that time of the year.

Right now I'm looking for Paul Wetmore. Paul, are you out there? I lost your email...Does anyone have it?

Thanks for Paul's address.

Now some top secret information: I've just spoken with Colonel Turchi. I swore to secrecy that I wouldn't let anyone know that this particular epic probably won't happen until the Fall Fiesta. Oh no....I have already said too much.

You must promise to keep this secret better than I have.

Great leak the info to the entire internet Mountain bike community!!!!! It was a great ride last year!! Paul hooked us up with many goodies!!! But man, if you don't like climbs, don't do this ride, I still feel pain when I think of the 30-45 min climb in brooksvale to start, then the steep/short climb of Little Birtha (yellow trail in West Rock) and finally to end it all... Big Birtha. Cramps anyone?? But excelent ride!!!!

I really think we need to give some sort of a reward or trophy for whoever can clean Bertha this year.

Suggestions, anyone?

North Haven Bike has graciously donated some real prizes for those riders who both complete this epic and clean big bertha. What are these fabulous prizes? Well perhaps you'll just have to go down to North Haven Bike and ask their friendly and knowledgable while you are browsing through their inventory of fine merchadise.

I have signed on some real Mountain Bike Superstahs (I'm experimenting with a Worcester accent for the benefit of our Massachusetts members) to join the epic:

Matt P. (Sweet and Low)
Puke
PMD

Can't wait for the epic to satisfy your thirst for carnage? Well thanks to bikerag.com you may enjoy the following sequence (I'm sure many of you are feeling guilty about talking so much smack about that noble insitution):

Spoke to Pablo only this morning. He's in sync with an very advanced, technical ride for CTNEMBA's Fall Fiesta (Nov.3rd). He feels though the need to alter the route since the start/end is expected to be the top of West Rock (at Bertha herself) and trying to full pull an epic would take 7-8 hours. He will come up with a 4 - 4+ to wipe the grins off all those confident types. Stay tuned.
