Been a tough couple of weeks due to the high heat/humidity! Anyway the trail conditions aren't that bad just dreadfully dry out. Rain is in my prayers.

Saw some Rhody Rover arrows up a weekend or so ago. Not sure what trails they used if any. From what I heard DEM changed the reg. so that they are not permitted to use single-track even for events. Will see if DEM hold them to it.

Check out the abandoned boat at the breakheart pond trailhead as of this past weekend. Needs a little work. ;)

Also the vandals were at work on the new handicapped bridge/boardwalk on south side at upper roaring brook stream. Pulled half the railing down. What purpose does this serve???

Anyway, the weather should break shortly so make sure you take advantage.

Happy trails,

Mike

Lots of branches and stuff down after last weeks wind storm. Heard rumors that many trees were down also, however, I have not located any new ones yet, however, I have been mostly on the south side last couple of rides. Will check the north side this week and report back. See ya...

Anybody taking the North-South Trail between Meadowbrook Pond and Carolina Management area, there's a tree down. No branches sticking out, but it's a foot and a half off the ground (impossible to ride over or jump), and won't break if you stand on it and jump. :P

Also, there's a very branchy tree down on an offshoot of the NST that goes between Burdickville & Buckeye Brook roads. The offshoot is not labeled, but there is a gated path and an old house foundation with lilac bushes nearby. The tree is near the gate and foundation. It's possible to ride though the branches, but not quickly....

In spite of the recent rain as of today the trail conditions on the North side of Arcadia are still dry and firm- we'll see what happens to them after tomorrow's storm, but as of right now the ground is still soaking everything up quickly.

Has anyone been to Big River? What are the conditions there?

Update 10/18/02: Rode yesterday on both south and north side and trails soaked up all of Wednesday's rainstorm. Trails are dry and ready for riding. Some small branches down but that's about it. Enjoy.
