Stupid question. Do people use camelbacks at highland? I've seen a ton of YouTube videos and no one has one on. I'm going for the first time next week and I don't want to look like an idiot bringing one.although where does everyone keep all their stuff? Thanks

I wear a pack whenever I go DH'ing and most of the people I ride with do also. IMO, if ya wear a pack for trail riding and feel comfortable, wear one when DH'ing

It's a small pack though. I generally carry a multi-tool, a tube, some sidewall patches, a few metal (DH) tire levers, pump, few spare hangers, snacks, a few beers, etc.... just enough for most trail side fixes. I don't put the bladder in the pack if I go to Highland, I just leave a water jug/bottle of Gatorade at the bottom near the liftline. If it's raining or gonna rain, I carry a bigger pack so I can store a jacket/pants etc...

You're not going to look like a tool if ya wear a pack...................I think the people that look like tools, are the one's pushing their bikes down the mountain because they don't have the basic tools on hand to fix a flat tire trailside.

Have fun, rip it up. Great place.

I believe there is a race next weekend. Just be aware that it'll be busy. Don't worry about what other's do & think, do what your comfortable with.
