Northborough Chairman

Dear NEMBA riders,

I just signed up on the board here. I am the current Chairman of the Northborough Trail Committee (NTC). I took over from Charlie Bradley (whom some of you might know...) back in the summer when Charlie moved to CT.

Anyway, I'm a former mountain bike rider/racer. I raced in the late '80s/early 90s at all the classic events like Lynn Woods, Greasy Wheel, Mt. Snow, etc. Back in the day I used to ride out of the Lincoln Guide Service shop with shop manager Steve Newlands. We'd go all around the trails at Walden Pond; usually having the trail network to ourselves.

Now, I lead the NTC in our trail maintenance efforts. I'd like to help in any way I can with maintenance issues that the riders see on the Northborough Trails. If you're riding in Northborough and see something that is dangerous or needs fixing, send me an e-mail through the Trail Committee website (http://www.northboroughtrails.org/).

Bob, thanks for volunteering your time and energy! If you're organizing trail work or rides, please post them up here. I missed the last trail day because I was out of state and wished I could have made it.

Hey Bob,
Rob here(Charlie's right hand man), I also moved out of town but just over to Shrewsbury. You can still count on me for trail work.
Also when Charlie and I cleaned leaves around thanksgiving time I noticed some new trails that were obviously built by bikers. These trails are more like short cuts or re-routes to hit or go around rocky features. It appears there is alot of new riders using Pisgah. I'd like to get together with you and maybe a few other experienced riders to come up with idea's to recruite and organize the Mt Pisgah mountain bikers. It appears to be a very popular riding spot, every time I'm up there I see signs of it's popularity. Hit me with a PM if you like.

Welcome to the NB trails commission. I have been actively riding the trails in Northboro/Berlin/Boylston for years. I have helped Rob and Charlie in the past with trail building and maintenance. Let me know if you need any help in 2010. I'll be cleaning up when the snow melts.
