Hope this is the right spot for this.

Will a 2008 Trek Fuel EX8 size small mens fit my daughter who is 5' 3" (and growing). Found an essentially pristine barely used one for $900 which I feel is a great deal (has the good weld seat stay BTW).

On paper many dimensions are very close to her current Spec. Myka HT bike except the Treks seat tube is 1.4" shorter. However, the Treks BB is 1.3" higher so I think that explains the difference and puts the top of the both seat tubes roughly the same height. Top tube length is only 3mm longer on the Trek and standover is .7" lower on the Trek which is good. The Trek fork has way more fork travel @ 130mm vs. 100mm

Of course she can't know about this (I know, I know)

Thanks for your thoughts!

top tube length is going to be the biggest thing in fit. the higher bb height will put the rider a little higher obviously

On paper it sounds like it will be just a bit too big...this is going off of the fact that my wife just finished bike shopping a month ago, and is 5'4". She ended up with a small Specialized Safire (women's version of the Stumpy). The mens small is larger in the same size...

Lower standover with only a 3mm difference in TT length when compared to her current bike? A higher BB is expected on a full suspension and I believe that the BB height is static, as in unweighted, so it'll be lower once she sits on it. You may need to switch some things like her seat and get a shorter stem, but that sounds good. So, if she's not really picky, then I'd say go for it.

Good luck!
