View Full Version : What tools should Santa bring me?

I am married to the best Santa in the world. She's already hooked me up with a great Park Tools stand, hex set, chain cleaner... I forget what else. I also never remember what I needed throughout the year.

I do have a tool set that I bought from Nashbar for $25 a while back that has served me well, with cone wrenches and esoteric stuff like chain whip and BB tool. A new Pedro's pedal wrench is already on the list.

Please throw some suggestions my way.

Headset press - many ways to press a headset in, but nothing beats doing it with that tool.

Starnut set - again it can be done without a tool, but that tool makes it so easy.

Headset tools, Hangar Tool, I'm fond of the enduro external bearing BB rebuild tool

Yes.

I also love my big Pedros tire lever and Park chain wear checker (short money but invaluable)

Bike tools I frequently use/will have in the near future since they see a lot of use.

Park T-handle hex/allen set (would like)

Cable/housing cutters

T25 t-handle for rotor bolts

A good chain tool

High quality torque wrench (would like. Snug works for a lot of stuff, but not carbon or suspension pivots IMHO).

Chain checker

D.A.G. (derailleur alignment guide)

External BB wrench (if you have external BB cups)

Spoke wrench(es)

Good tire levers, cheapies just end up breaking anyway.
