What basic tools and spare parts do you bring for your basic 1 to 2 hour ride. What do add if you are going for a longer time?

I have the same kit no matter the length of the ride - I don't understand the thinking behind not having something for shorter rides? It still sucks to have to walk out!

Multi-tool
2 tubes (even though I run tubeless)
Tire Pump
Tire levers
Tire patch kit
Assorted screws/bolts
SPD cleat
chain quick links
zip ties
duct tape
food appropriate for the ride length
cell phone

Jisch has a pretty good list. The only thing I would add is some over the counter remedies like Advil’s and some antacids. Trail money (aka toilet paper) can come in handy on an all day epic.

Good list , the only thing else I carry is a small med kit. The tweezers are great for pulling thorns out of the tires.

I like the lists so far - I carry spare hangers for all my bikes - usually can get anyone in the group going again. On large group rides destined for over a couple of hours, I often throw in a derailleur - some bikes/riders don't have a magic single speed gear.
