In order to avoid a penalty I have to get rid of it today. But since there is already some interest I will keep it and will call them tomorrow with the name of whoever ends up taking it.
Let the bidding begin!! lol j/k :)

I'm in, which campground is this, and for how many nights ?Do you like bourbon? It would just be me, maybe I could share?

It's yours. Site #16 (http://www.skiburke.com/images/PDF's/campground.pdf)
Its at the Burke Mountain campground so the trails are right there. They bermed Camptown so it should be pretty fun. I reserved it for 3 nights at $75/night. Its a big site and can accomodate 3-4 tents but only two cars. What is your name so I can tell them you will be staying there. You will have to pay for the site when you check in. If you have a season trail pass you will get a discount.
Pics below. The lean-to is mine.

I'm there with a couple of other guys. #21. Never had that one before. Hope it's a good one.
Woodsguy, isn't it $25/night? Grab it Lee! Weather looks good and mountain trails are officially open!

That is with my service fee. :) Yes, you are correct, it is $25/night for a total of $75.

I'm planning on coming up Saturday morning and staying over that night somewhere. I could probably squeeze onto a buddy's site, but he's already sharing, so I'd be happy to contribute if you have a flat spot for a pup-tent.

CP, Can't you share the site with Lee? He asked for share-ers I think.
I'm only going to be there Saturday night and I have one of those small triangular (footprint) one man tents. I may even be able to sleep in someone's lean-to or another site.
It just makes sense if you guys can make it work.

I think only two cars per site?
Aging Wannabee
September 2nd, 2009, 03:48 PM
Yours and his. I can find a place to park for a night.
But maybe he needs a site all to his self and his clan of noisy hellion kids. Alls I'm sayin is don't let me wanting a space for one guy for one night mess up a whole fambly's opportunity to get up there for multiple days is all i'm sayin is all.

Wannabee - I have site 8 which is pretty big if I recall correctly, we'll have two tents and a bunch of teenagers, but you are welcome to put your backpack tent up if it'll fit.

Great! Thanks Harold. That makes 3 possible sites for me to squat on. NEMBA rocks. I hope all that are interested can figure out a way to share sites. It would be a shame to waste space for what is looking like a great weekend.

Are there any plans for organized rides, or will folks just form up and head out from the campground whenever they feel like it?
I'm going to be at KT this weekend, but not camping -- I didn't know about the NEMBA event when I made my plans.

My thoughts are to extend Saturday morning into moose alley, cross the street to I think White hall and head back into town for lunch then up to Darling Hill (that makes for an epic day). Sunday sounds good.
I heard a night ride might be put together Friday for a little added fun

Maybe Miss Lyndonville for breakfast?
Drop a vehicle at the Outback
Start riding at 9:30 or so
#1 - Camptown, the Mooses, White School, Pete's Pond, and as much of Darling as you can handle
#2 - Camptown/J-bar or Enchanted/Black Forest, Burn'm Down (new trail to town), the full Darling tour ccw
Ferry the troops back up the hill mid afternoon.
#3 - who knows? Shuttle to the top?? Downhill trail?
I have found that I get enough climbing on a 4-5 hr. ride that I don't relish the climb back up to camp, but I'm a little older than many of you.

When I say morning I mean 7 or 7:30am. Last time nobody else wanted to get up that early to ride so I figure this weekend will be the same. We can still do the lunch in town if we leave for the afternoon ride at 10:30am and hit the pump track for a little while. I'm guessing most people won't be up for more than a 4.5 hour ride which is why I split the day into 3 rides.

Good points, it was hard to get going early with all the rain on the 4th trip. Last year we got out at 9:30-10:00 and rode till about 5:30 (with a lunch break in there of course). I will talk to a few friends when they arrive later tomorrow night and see what their thoughts are. I do know night ride was mentioned.

I didn't mean the last time with you (it was way too wet), I meant the last time I did early morning rides there.
What ever everyone wants to do. I'm flexible.

It might make riding camptown a problem until saturday afternoon.
I'm working on doing a day trip up there this weekend at some point. Looks like sunday might be the better day.

Did anyone happen to find a camera at the top of a hill on River Run Saturday?
Thanks

Nothing caught my eye. :( Maybe give Tim a call at KT HQ?
I saw a few NEMBA jerseys floating around up there on Saturday morning - I rode Thursday and Saturday there while on vacation and holy God, I can't wait to go back.
FWIW, there's an amazing gem in Essex County, VT (about an hour and 20 west) called Saxon Hill Trails that quite honestly could give a lot of KT a run for the money, unless you count the downhill glory that is Sidewinder and Kitchel.

Wow, what a great weekend. Excellent conditions and weather and epic riding. Did upper J-bar for the 1st time ever, up. Tough stuff but mucho fun. Think I did Sidewinder 4x, Moose Alley 2x down and 1x up, Kitchel like 4x also. Got my money worth for sure.

Thanks for hooking me up with the site , woodsguy, an awesome time was had by all. Three days of 70 degrees and a beautiful breeze. Had Joe D as the fabulous trail guide. Saw a lots of diggers' rear wheel. Miles of endless downhill flowy singletrack. 62 miles for three days of riding, the tank is full to the brim.
