I have a Jamis Dakar XLT 1.0 which was ridden 6 times by me on easy stuff and out of warrenty. When I took my bike to the shop we noticed that the rebound was set for a down hiller and the adjustment valve was inorperable-broke. Is there anything that can be done besides having to purchase another front fork ? Thank you

can have it rebuild.. there will be an extra charge for the part I'm sure, but it should be able to be done.

I had this done. It's a known weakness on Manitous. Cost me around a hundred bucks. At least you can say it was like that when you got it, notfrom you overadjusting it before the first ride.

Where is a good place to have it rebuilt ? My LBS suggested that I buy a RockShox

I had JRA in Medford do it. I have a RockShox Pike air U-turn. It's a sweet fork, as is my Fox Float RLC, but both go for pretty big money.
