Merrimack Valleys' 6th Trail Day for this season will be happening at Great Brook Farm, Carlilse, Ma. on Sunday August 9th

Parking will be at the lot by the canoe launch off North Rd (roughly 450 North Rd) about 1/2 mi east of the lots near the Ski Barn. http://tinyurl.com/n74bkk

Meeting time will be 8:30am and we will begin to head to the work site around 8:45. Planning to work for approx 3-4 hrs, the more that show the faster it will go.

The area is a trail section down by the boardwalk on the Deer Run Trail between the markers #30 and #31 on the DCR map just off the Garrison Loop (down by the "dog pound"). We are hoping to accomplish some much needed drainage work, choking and trail tread hardening (rock work). There will also be a chance to open up some of the overgrown vegetation on Deer Run also, so there should be work for all abilities.

Tools, drinks and snacks will be supplied, lunch and ride to follow.

Come and help us continue with the great tradition of trail work which has always been synomonous with NEMBA and Great Brook Farm.

Thanks

A reminder for this Sundays Trail Day at Great Brook Farm.

We are also planning a Chapter meeting for the 26th of Aug, more details will follow.

Looking to follow up with work on Stone Row and the old Tophet Loop boardwalk this fall amongst other projects.

We had a great turnout for an August Sunday. 11 hard workers showed up to help with what turned into a short re-route of a muddy section of trail, several muddy spots on the same trail were fixed and much needed drainage was added. We will be planning more projects in in the very near future at Great Brook, even though the season is waning there should be at least one more major project for everyone to be involved with this year. Something on the fabled Stone Row perhaps, possibly re-routes on Blueberry Hill, most likely maintenance on Tophet Loop and a more permanent fix of the older Tophet Loop boardwalk.
Sound interesting?? Come on down and give us a hand.
