Trailcare Event at Franklin Falls Dam, Location: Route 127 Parking Lot Franklin, NH

Sorry for the short notice. This will be a concentrated effort to open re-route the Heritage trail to the North on the East side of the river. A half-mile , or so, of bench-cutting so ground-hogs rejoice! This will be very focused project, no other maintenance work will be done. We will be bringing all of our tools but grub-hoes, mattocks, gravel rakes, or even regular garden-hoes might be a good choice to bring from home

Park at the regular dam parking. If the gate is open you may park at the office. There wont be a table set up this time. It is a fair distance to the work area. Folks may either ride their bikes over to Rusty Bucket trail at the Knife edge were the Heritage trail bears North, or we will be shuttling tools and people over to Gile Pond Road entrance of the Beltline Road.

The work area is North of Salmon brook so walking accross the stream will be required. Hopefully the water level will be low enough so wading wont be required.

Attention: No parking at the little hydro dam on Gile Pond Road, and no walking over the steel bridge over Salmon Brook. That is all private and off- limits.

8 AM we will be heading off to the work site. Stragglers will need to find there way. We will try to add a map here later to help you find us.

Thanks,

G.D.
