Please join the Friends of Beaver Brook Reservation, Friends of the Western Greenway, the New England Mountain Bike Association, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation as they build over 3800 feet of new trail and 560 feet of new boardwalks in the DCR Beaver Brook North Reservation (formerly Met State Hospital) in Lexington. This work will complete the Western Greenway link between the Metropolitan Parkway and the new Lot 1 property across Walnut Street to connect greenspace in Lexington, Belmont, and Waltham.
Tools, instruction, and lunch provided. Bring your bottle for bottomless refills of ice water. Come for whatever part of the day your schedule allows. Work goes from 8:30am to approximately 3pm on the following Saturdays:

Directions: Take the Metropolitan Parkway South across from Forest St at about 480 Trapelo Rd, Waltham and follow signs to trail work. Parking is near the abandoned administration building (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=42.405333,-71.213164&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=36.863178,78.75&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A). A paved bike path runs along the parkway and can be accessed from Trapelo Rd, Waltham or Concord Ave, Lexington.
