View Full Version : Wompatuck Sunday 6/14/09. Help build new trail!

Everyone loves a sweet new trail right? Want to help build some? This Sunday June 14th we will be holding a trail care day at Wompatuck SP to hopefully finish the new trail dubbed "Pine Run". Pine Run is currently about 60% complete but we need your help to finish off cutting the top portion of the trail, raking/benching, and dirting in some soon to be sweet bermed turns on what will be a super fun trail coming down Prospect Hill.

Meet at 8:30am in the visitors center parking lot. We'll work until 11:30ish and stop for pizza lunch. This will be part of the NEMBA/Trek Bicycles trail care series so if you come out, sign in on the NEMBA waiver, and lend a hand you'll be entered into a end of the season drawing for a very, very nice full suspension Trek bike.

FYI, I am not sure if this will affect you guys but there is the Kids Pan Mass Challenge also that morning going from Hingham High School into Wompatuck. The 2.5 mile kids ride goes to the VC and the Kids Challenge loop goes to the end of Wompy's road......I know they will be closing the roads for this event but not sure how they handle entrance into the park.

The gang and I will be at the Pan Mass Challenge event.......sorry to miss your trail building series, but we'll stop by to see your Labour of Love!

Eric O just spoke with park staff--the road won't be completely closed, so we can still meet as planned at the VC and carpool/bike in to Prospect. One warning--come down Free st off 228, avoid the High School!

Forgot to mention in the original post: as usual tools will be provided but feel free to bring your own tools if preferred, just be prepared to keep track of them. Bring some bug spray along and some water to stay hydrated :D.

Rode the roughed in route last night, this is shaping up to be an awesome trail, very good flow to it.
