Great pics Splat of a very fun ride. The plank section was long! My camera battery died so I didn't get any pics of the playing around in the FedEx lot while waiting for Nate to fix his chain. Sorry I missed the ride.........didn't see the ride post. I really needed a fun recovery day after the weekend, but ended up going to Nam to pound rocks.....smart. :^)

This stuff and more is right out of my house........down the MWRA and over the hill. There are miles of riding around the whole hospital/Chauncys and I use it as a "Plan B" during bad weather. Did you do the the sand pits between the big and little Chauncys?

Might just do a major XC tour of the whole area this Sunday if the weather is iffy for freeride.

I'm saving the hangover for the Borderland Trail Maintenance on Saturday. Just Ride Nam after the TM and if you really want an XC oriented ride, we'll do that. Maybe we can get a small group to go out for a longer distance Nam ride. I'd be down with that....head out to College rock?

See how the weather plays out for post TM on Sunday. That's what my aforementioned "plan B" is for........ride out of my garage........come home and hose down the bike......then chill. Also, I could get real Kranky if I have to haul my bike around during TM and then have to go back and change at the car.....in the rain.

More on Splat's ride. There is some really cool stuff to do/see over in the Lyman St riding area beyond what Splat's crew toured. It is pretty much light duty riding, but there are the sand pits, old crematorium, tons of double and single track going west of the hosptal and the Chauncys.......good stuff for "smelling the roses" or turning on the jets. On the east side of Lyman St there is stuff to bushwack. Of course, the SVTrustees stuff is off limits which is a damn shame. All the trails they control is stuff that was there long before that group bought the land. Funny that the trails never really got used by MTBers before they bought it..........and probably wouldn't now. Bunch of elitists.

Yup, the cremetorium is on the hill over at Big Chauncy. Kind of weird to walk down the ramp below ground into what little is left of the building. Lots of history around our area.
