They get bigger

Kids,
Yeah, they get bigger. They start all small and light and ride so nice and carefull and then before you know it they are breaking things.

Noah is a bit too big for the old Homegrown, but is riding it anyway till he can afford something new and the right size. I imagine something with 4 wheels or perhaps someone soft and pretty will divert his attention before he saves enough for a bike.

In the mean time if anyone has a square taper crankset kicking around that they want to let go for short money, please do let me know.

i actually have a shimano nondriveside square taper arm on my shelf. it's silver, not black. will that work for you? i am pretty sure it's 175

I'm sure I have square taper sets kicking around in my parts bin that might work as well that I would let go for no money to keep a youngin' riding dirt.
