What – Merrimack Valley 3rd TREK/NEMBA Trail Day for 2009.
When – This Saturday the 16th of May at 8:30 am.
Where – Russell Mill Reservation and Town Forest, 100-101 Mill Road, Chelmsford MA. (Across from Raymond Road)
What to bring – Work gloves and something to drink. We’ll supply the rest. And drag a friend along for good measure.
Why – MV NEMBA has been working on this property for two years now under the direction of the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship to create a new trail system at Russell Mill. These trail are as you’d expect, mountain bike specific in design, but there also appropriate for walkers, joggers and hikers. (So if you like LDT, you’ll love RM)
Special Announcement - This Saturday, the town of Chelmsford will officially be opening this new bike specific trail system to the general public. The public is invited to a ribbon cutting at 11:45 a.m., followed by free hot dogs, burgers, lemonade and other refreshments. Look for some swag and maybe a raffle from MV NEMBA. So as you can see, this is not going to be your run of the mill trail day. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself). If you don’t get out to many NEMBA trail days, maybe you want to fit this in your schedule. Let’s show the town of Chelmsford our support and thanks for what has transpired at Russell Mill. And who knows, maybe other towns will be taking notice.
Call Norman Blanchette at 978 455-5605 or E-Mail n.blanchette@comcast.net for additional information.
