I will be hosting a trail maintenance day at Rock Meadow in Belmont on Saturday, May 9th from 8:30am until 1:30pm. This is a maintenance day hosted by the Friends of Rock Meadow. NEMBA will be supporting the event with tools, insurance and expertise. We will be re-vegetating a fall line trail and reconstructing the two trails that exit the parking area. We will also be doing a small amount of work on the McLean Open Space land to align the trail on that side of the road with the entrance at Rock Meadow. It is very helpful to have mountain bikers at these events. First of all, mountain bikers are excellent workers and it also is a sign of good will toward the other trail users when we all work together to get something done. No experience necessary. Be prepared to work with long pants, gloves, bug spray and water. We will supply tools and food. If anybody has a wheelbarrow, that is always helpful and feel free to bring it along.
