I am helping the Waltham Land Trust with some new trail construction and am seeking help. This is of particular interest to mountain bikers in the Waltham area looking to expand riding opportunities and make new friends among fellow trail users. There will be a full weekend of trail work on May 2-3, so you can help for whatever time is convenient for you. The project will complete one leg of the Western Greenway link between Shady's Pond and the Storer Conservation Land started last fall, and will include construction of 2 short bridges.
Meet on the High School access road (aka Jack's Way), off Lexington St, Waltham. Go up the access road past the JFK Middle School on the left (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=655+lexington+st,waltham,ma&sll=42.395462,-71.232669&sspn=0.008256,0.014055&ie=UTF8&ll=42.395636,-71.231124&spn=0.008256,0.014055&t=h&z=16) and park on the right opposite the high school near the top of the hill. Tools, gloves, instruction, and lunch provided. Be prepared for poison ivy, wet ground and brambles. Bring your own water bottle for unlimited refill from a water cooler. Please shoot me an email if you think you'll attend so food can be planned.
