I have two older bikes, a Jamis Komodo and a trek Y-11. Both have the old (I think 22mm) disc brake bosses. does anyone still sell an adapter for these?
I really love my bikes and don't want to sell them and get a new frame but I really would like to convert to disc.
thanks,
Steve

For 22mm chainstay Hayes style mounts, A2Z (http://www.a2zcomponents.com/Adapter/Others.asp) (china) still makes adaptors...you want the "AD-PMR" (second one down).
The US Distributor is HERE (http://www.jerseycycles.com/Product-Pages/A2ZProducts.html)

thanks Bikerdon! I ordered an A2Z adapter from torontocycles that is supposedly made specifically for Jamis and Trek frames. Just waiting for it to come in the mail, I'll write a review once I try it out, I can't be the only one too poor or to buy a new bike.

Got the A2Z adapter but my rear triangle is too small:-( couldn't fit the caliper in between the seat stay and chainstay. they did have a disclaimer on the A2Z website that this wouldn't work on all frames. Guess I'll have to wait for the next bike for discs.

The 22mm style mount is endangered. And not to sound like a bike snob...but that's a good thing. You won't find much that will make it work. There are lots of companies still making adapters and caliper halves and so on.
In my opinion keep the rim brakes for now. Save your beer bottles and pennies for a bike that has the updated mounts. It will make your life less stressful and you'll spend less money trying to make them work.
