Two months ago Mickey from Spooky bikes let me borrow his personal bike to ride, and try out the new (well really old) 650B wheel size. After two months of riding I fell in love with the bike in both 26 inch and 650b formats.
Last weekend for the Burlingame Time Trial Mickey let me race his bike as the parts came in, the bike rode great, it is stable without being anything close to slow, and is a blast!Today the last of the parts came in and the bike is finally ready to ride!

The front derailleur has lots of room between it and the tire in the little ring! Thus bike was designed to have enough room for big tires and mud.

The grips are esi racers edge, i also have a set of the chunky grips on another bike, esi grips are awesome.

Af anybody else wants to give the 650b wheels a try we can meet up and i would be more than happy to let you check them out!

We're doing all of our 7005 aluminum, steel and 80% of all the 6061 here in Easthampton now.... Working on getting enough capacity to meet the 6061 demand, but that's a big order!

wow! So who's doing the tube mitering and welding for ya?

Our machines of course! There's a steady stream of about 4 people who are in and out of the shop doing various things... Lathes and cnc mills are distributed all over Mass at this point, machine parts usually change hands in race parking lots and are ported by the road team.
We now have a great working relationship with a tube mill down in CT where we are drawing, doming, swaging, flaring and butting all of our new 6061 stuff. Heck, most of the machine parts for our new fs bike are actually going to be made in the Netherlands out of a new super-alloy that one of my dutch friends turned me on to.

Capacity is the big crunch, always needing more space, more electricity, more machines, and more time...

Noticed you said quasi/neo on this bike. Are you running two quasi's or two neo's?

I am running the neo moto in the front and the quasi moto in the back. Both are really awesome tires.

I have few rides in on the neo and agree it is a great tire. I am considering trying the 2.1when that becomes available. Rear is Kenda Karma 2.0. Thanks for the quick reply. Oh are you mostly running it 650B or do you go 26 with it sometimes?

I am like 50 50 with the notubes 650 wheels and the 26er edge wheels. The bike rides great with both, if its really rocky the 650's get the pick, if its tight and fast the edge wheels get the pick. The edge wheels are tons of fun, really stiff and insanely light (and well equally expensive) the 650 wheels are fantastic, and are catching on pretty quick...I hear 650 karmas may be coming.... (and I can't wait!!!)

650 Karmas would excellent. Favorite tire I have used hands down. 29er has not seen the dirt since getting this front wheel on the Epic. To bad one won't fit on the rear...
