Is Great Brook Farm in good shape right now. I like that place because I am a beginner. If it isn't good, what are some good beginner-level alternatives?

I meant to post this up earlier today.
I went to GBF today before lunch, and it is not yet ready to ride. While there is certainly more dirt than snow cover at this point, there's just too much snow/melting snow/wet dirt.
GBF probably won't be ready until the first weekend in April, at the earliest.
Try Wompy, as it's very beginner friendly. My wife and I went there over the weekend and it was in great shape. It was our first time there and there were lots of intersecting trails, but luckily we had a map and the trails are well marked.
Cutler Park is in good shape and is also good for beginners. It's a small network of trails (~6 miles total), it's pretty flat, and it's not technical at all. Normally not worth a long trip (I like it cuz it's close to home), but it's a great place for beginners. It's also good in that it's impossible to get lost for longer than 5 minutes.

Um, you're welcome???
You've already been to Cutler - great, so you know how to get there. Go again. Or try Wompy.

Are you sure? I remember reading a couple of years ago that this was not the case at GBF, but I could be mistaken.

According to NEMBA's own trail page, the trails are closed until march 15 due to XC skiing, and that's the only restriction.

no I am not sure. but I am sure that the trails are not ready to ride yet. too soft. if
you wanna rip around on dubious ground the PR is 10 miles away from GB and there are no restrictions there.

I don't want to "rip around on dubious ground." Read my first post.
Thanks for the correct info, Zeena.

Cutler is closed until April 15 too.
Hog, How IS the PR? Do I need a Pugsley? Not interested in ripping up trails either.

As of about a week ago "Beddy is NOT ready". At least according to a well-known GBNEMBA President. And in my recent drive past it (granted, from the highway) it looked VERY swampy. More so than normal.
