I am not sure if HP is ready to ride yet. Some have said that its still pretty soggy. Anyone been their recently to see how it is?
That said, if it is ready to ride (probably unlikely) I know my way around and would be happy to hook up for a ride.
If its not rideable, I will probably be going down to Borderlands. I poked around down there last weekend and it was in very good shape. The main trails were not wet at all. There were a few sections that were wet and those should be walked around but everything else looked pretty good. Provided we don't get too much rain today, it should be even better this weekend.

I think that HP is not ready yet. I live in wilmington and there is still snow and ice in my yard and on the trails. The trails need to be completely thawed in order to drain properly. Another week should do it.I know my way around, if someone needs a tour.

I guess I can wait for it to thaw, spring really feels harder to wait for this year...

If you really have the jones to ride, I am leading a ride at Borderlands on Saturday morning. The place is in very good shape. Its not as big as HP, but its a good ride...

When HP is in good condition for riding I would appreciate tagging along with someone or a group who knows the trails. I just moved up to North Andover this past winter and don't know the trails yet.

I'll be riding it around 5ish during the week, starting in a few weeks.

Excellent, that would work for me, thanks. I drive right by the park on my way to/from work every day.

By 5ish do you mean closer to 5:30 - 6:00 by chance?

Has anyone been out there lately? It is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow so I am thinking of taking a ride over there at lunch to check it out, running not cycling (of course).

Run if you want, but no need to leave the bike at home. Was there today and things are in pretty good shape. West side best, 100% prime.

What's West? 125 <-> Jenkins?

Yeah, between Jenkins and 125. It was in great shape last night. The area to the right of the Jenkins lot was still very snowy. I'm going to hit it again Friday night and this weekend.

The worst spot I saw was the first ST going out of the Jenkins lot toward Salem Pond and HQs. Be good to skip that one. Unabomber was fine. Didn't get further than that so don't know about Terry Trail etc.

I have ridden every inch of HP over 2 days.
Like Digger said the worst parts are the first fire road heading into the Yellow Trail, and a few early sections on the Yellow Trail.
There is still some hardpack/soft pack on fire roads here and there in spots.
The trails West of Jenkins are the dryest by far.
Wet Rabbit is great, the usually wet spot is wet.
The Gun Club Trails are great, but the Double track entrance is a bit snowy in the beginning. The Back Door trail is also perfect.
Unibomber is ruler as is the Terry Trail. Upper Terry is also nice.
No Red Tape Trails are perfect. Some of those back fireroads are soft in sections. Use caution.
I have noticed some ride arounds already on technical sections. PLEASE stay on the trails as they lay, altering the trails is weak sauce.

Where/how are the HP trails named? Unabomber? Terry Trail? Red Tape?

I'm game for a group ride if someone doesn't mind leading. I've never ridden HP before so I was just planning on exploring. Plus this will be my first ride of the season so I wouldn't want to be on a very strenuous pace.

HP is wide open and riding great.
Can't loose where ever you decide to ride.

I think there may be some early morning dampness but overall, unless somethings changed, Saturday should be a decent day.
