View Full Version : Otis for idiots

Otis ride this Sunday morning (3/15) 9:30am. We ride fast, slow, fast, stop and do stupid things and say hurtful things to each other, then ride fast again. We like to hit as many of the techie spots as we can before our collective lack of fitness catches up with us. Then we leave and grab lunch at some God-forsaken dive that some former SEMASS president insists is great. If this sounds good to you, come on along...

Meet at the usual parking area along Rte. 151. Some of us are meeting at Wendy's in Milford at 8:00am for the carpool thing.

Directions:

10:00 sounds better than 9:30, do I hear 10:30?

Well I like Otis and I'm an idiot so I'm in. Really though you had me at saying hurtful things, the possibility of lousy directions and a dive is just an added bonus.

Mongoose you in too?

Thanks for the beta JH, good to hear. Warmer air Sat. and Sun. should make for primo riding conditions.

Not to worry! If Rich shows, he usually patches his tube once or twice a mile...

Get SloBo to drive ya! Andrew'd probably be happy to take a few hours off of Bo's verbal barrage...

I'll be there with a fellow migratory NH-ite. Not sure I know any of you, except C.P. who I think I rode with at a FOMBA SS ride years ago. If you see a black Tacoma with a cap or a RM Blizzard SS, come on over and say hello.

Man, it was great out there today! Not sure who exactly it was I met out there at the top of the hill with the old wooden platform. If you guys had half as much fun as I did, it was a heck of a day :)

this thread, and the one about the left-behind backpack really show why mountain bike people are the best in the world. "slow, fast, slow.... hurtful things... wrath of my linguistic skills". Priceless.

I'll take my chances with your linguistic wrath if folks want to ride Otis again, I had a blast on Sunday. Plus dirtrider couldn't talk to much trash considering he forgot his shoes....to his credit he sucked it up and rode in borrowed sneakers anyway.

Anyway, great ride! Thank you Garrett, those shoes worked great! Lots of fun seeing some different mugs out there rather than just the normal motley bunch. Barnes did an awesome string up job once again!!

I know our group rode past you guys just after the power lines and the boulder with the plank to get over it. I remember hearing about forgotten shoes(guy on a blue Mongoose?). Anyway we ended up riding about 7 miles in there but I only saw one other "stunt" that was rather tame compared to what we were hoping to see. Is there more stuff out there? I know from Greg's video that there are at least a couple other interesting moves. The guy leading us around leaned more to the XC side but had'nt ridden there in awhile.
Basically while the trails were a-lot of fun I was hoping for more of a challenge.

Mongoose? I think not! I have a bike with far more cache...a Diamondback. Diamondback would never be sold in a bigbox store...uh...wait a minute...;^)
