Have any plans / schedule - possibilties been announced for this event? I stayed away last year because the final PEDROS was such tight quarters and weak riding but maybe KENDA injected new life?

I hope so ... I ned something to look forward to -

Last year it was awesome. But it looks like it is canceled this year.

Great riding on the backside of jimny peak, 6 miles downhill singletrack plus lots of other stuff, including a "little" climbing. I'd be really bummed if it was cancelled this year.

That's sad. I've gone many years and I was looking forward to it for '09.

Well we still have NEMBAFEST! I'm hearing the new venue will be at Bear Brook State Park, in Allenstown NH. Camping, swimming, and trails for all abilities.

That's a shame. I'm just wondering if the bad ecomomy contributed to it?

I'm guessing it's not because of Kenda...I'd wager it's the land owners.

Ooopps! I didn't give land owners any thought. Watch. You might be exactly right about this issue.

Here is an email reply a friend of mine sent me when he inquired about the event dates for this year. Words cannot describe our disappointment.....

I wanted to see one of these also. The thing holding me back was questionable transportation - a car that is maintenance hungry. BTW, is that a turbo charger that I see as your "profile I.D.?

don't worry, CLIMB will be having their Fat tire Fest this year. not to far from you. they had a REALLY good turnout in 2008.. better than anyone expected.... I think 4 bikes were raffled off ( I won one :) )

anyway, will be posting here, ECTRR, and CLIMB as soon as all the dates are final.

I figured I'd ask just in case I'm on the trail someday and I hear a growling high horsepower V6 with a turbo charger closing in on me.

Looking forward to NEMBA fest at bearbrook this fall. Great riding there. What am I going to do with all this bourbon I had stocked up for the DirtRag tasting @ their booth? Any other big festivals in the NE area this summer?

Greetings fellow likeminded riders,
I am too sad to see the Kenda fest not taking place this year, I always drove up from New Jersey to take part in this event with great likeminded people... "ahh the bourbon tasting".... gonna miss that this year!...

I wanted to tell everyone about our Clubs bike fest in New Jersey, it is only one day but we had such a great success last year, it’s called JORBA Fest http://www2.jorba.org/index.php?title=Fest (http://www2.jorba.org/index.php?title=Fest)

this is the link, check it out and look over last years events. this is our second season for JORBA fest and we are excited to put it together again for 09... Who knows if it continues to grow each year we might be able to make it a two or three day event like pedros fest..

OH forgot to mentione too....ITS FREE....

thanks again and ride On!.

Mount Snow Hires MTB Festival Manager

DOVER, VT (BRAIN)—Renée Hicks, the former coordinator for the Pedro’s and Kenda Mountain Bike Festivals, has joined up with Mount Snow to promote the Mount Snow Mountain Bike Festival in Dover, Vermont on August 7-9.

“Renée brings a wealth of industry knowledge that will help transform a merely fun event into a cannot miss bike festival,” said Greg Fisher, marketing operations and event director at Mount Snow. “She's tuned to what mountain bikers want in a festival, which is riding on iconic East Coast single-track mixed with events marked by challenge, entertainment, and social mingling.”

By hiring Hicks, Mount Snow is committed to replacing what many people have come to know as Pedrosfest during the past 15 years. The Mount Snow Mountain Bike Festival will feature group rides for all ability levels in all disciplines, games and contests, like the famous mud bog slog and the bicycle limbo.

Participants can visit the exhibitor and tech expo, watch a movie, or join the next generation of off-road enthusiasts in an activities area especially for kids. After dark, concerts and fireworks should round out the day.

Running concurrently with the festival are the US Kenda Cup East, USA Cycling’s Pro XCT tour presented by Sho-Air, the Kenda Downhill Series and the Trek Women’s Triathlon Series.

The schedule of events is loaded with something for everyone from the budding mountain biker to the aspiring pro. We’ve even included events for the skinny-tire cyclist. A brief schedule of events is available online at: www.mountsnow.com/bikefestival.html (http://www.mountsnow.com/bikefestival.html).
