Hi all, I recently moved to Templeton and was suprised to see a state forest. Does anyone have or know of a map of any trails in this area?

I think know someone who rides up in Otter River sometimes - I'll see what I can find out. You'll also want to put Petersham on your list for XC close to home - great stuff out there.
Lots of trails around Leominster a bit to your east and the Pioneer Valley to the west too. You're in a good spot. :D
Sing out if you ever need a tour guide around the Leo/Westminster area.

Hey Massrider,
Welcome to the hood'. As Slappy said, there are some trails over at Otter River but they are a little confusing and tend to be overrun by throttle twisters sometimes. We are having a XC ski "ride" this Wednesday evening at 5:00 PM in the center of Petersham. Bring a headlamp. we should be out for about two hours or so. We'll probably hit some of the riding trails and you can meet some of the crew.
All are welcome.

I rode there once about seven years ago. I remember it was fun, but can't think of any pertinent info to share.

There is a dedicated mt bike trail @ Tully Lake. It is about 8 miles long. This area is an Army corp of engineering flood control area and is subject to seasonal high water at times. The campground is run by the Trustees of the Reservations. Turn left on the paved road (Doane Hill Road) exiting the main campground. Look for a trail sign about 100 ft on your right. 4 miles of the SWEETEST single track to be had. It follows the hilly contours and some of the lake shore. On the other side of long pond, It mixes single track and some dirt roads to finish @ the start. Not all the trails in the area are open to bikes. Great hiking and boating too.

Awesome, and thanks for the tips. I have lived and biked in this area for 12 years. Im a huge fan of Leo state and Burbank. I pretty much grew up riding those two. I have been out to Tully once before too, it was pretty nice, just a lot of traffic. Slappy, i believe you and your crew may have been responsible for some of the trails Ive ridden in westminster as well, over by the grafeti bridge, nice stuff!
My new home boarders the Templeton State forest (i can see it out my window), and was hoping to find a map of any trails there. I will have to take a look come spring time, if there arent any, there will be soon =).
