This is a solid deal, and yes, I know you can buy a new '08 for $900 from blue sky. The rear shock was Push'd and has a larger air sleeve (this was not cheap). That said, the bike has been ridden and the price reflects the use + the Push'd shock and parts. I raced it once in the King of Brulingame TT (and won on it!). There are some marks from riding, some paint loss and a nick here or there.
It's true that I really dig this bike but I'm clearing everything out except my 'cross bike and the Karate Monkey. I'm trying to settle on one more MTB and that's it. Leaning towards building a Niner EMD 9 1x8 in case anyone is wondering..
So, yeah the Niner. It's a Large - I'm 6' with a 33" true inseam and a proportional build. The ETT looks a hair long on paper but fits really well. Niners are very neutral handling bikes and I got on with this one very well. Did I mention it glows in the dark? No, well it does. There's something you don't see every day! Well really you wouldn't see it during the day. It's at night, or in your closet, where you're likely to notice..
I'm including the seat collar, Cane Creek HS, the RF stem, Niner flat top bar, XT front derailleur and WTB seat post. The original RP23 sleeve is included and the pro pedal settings work great on the Push'd shock. I always rode it open, or fully active, to take full advantage of the climbing characteristics of the frame. This thing climbs like a goat and it really puts power down on the flats as well.
The rest of the build is 8 speed XTR with thumbies and I'm holding on to it.
Please help a serial bike whore out!
