OK, still looking to sell this. This is a steal at $750. The only issue with the bike is the Reba is just starting to weep a bit on the Motion Control side. This is not a big deal, rebuilds usually run ~ $75.
Full build is as follows:
King HS (was new with the bike)
Truvative XR post with a Redline saddle (post is 27.2)
XT 5 bolt cranks (square taper) were new old stock - 177.5 length. Removable spider. It's a cool crank, and fairly rare these days.
No pedals
UN72 Bottom Bracket (really smooth)
Salsa bash guard (the buzz saw looking guard)
Salsa 32t SS ring
New Sram 8 spd chain
Surly 20t cog
XT hubs laced to Salsa Delgado Discs
Tires - WTB Moto front, Nano rear both folding
Brakes - Avid BB7
Levers - Avid FR somethings - the SS build kit levers.
Salsa Moto Ace flat bar, wide w/minimal sweep (~ 5 deg.)
ODI lock on grips w/Ruffians.
FSA XC 110mm stem w/a slight rise to it.
Reba Race 80mm - including the spacers for conversion to 100mm.
Salsa lip lock collar (shimmed) and the stock QR collar. I used the Salsa because Kona didn't ship the stock one with it originally. It's an odd size, 30.7, so I made the lip lock work. I had no issues with it as is.
Extra set of tires - Kenda Klaw front and rear set w/little use.
It weighs 24.5lbs built as a SS. - It was a 27 with a XTR 1x8 set up. You could drop weight pretty quickly with a Thomson post and a lighter saddle. Also, stem and bar could be swapped to some real light XC racing stuff to help in that area as well.
When I rode it rigid (Origin 8 carbon) the bike was real light, and flew up hill, but it was kind of twitchy and a real handful in rock gardens. Just in case you decided to go that route.
The BB is fairly high and I never had any issues running slightly longer cranks (177.5).
The rear wheel is spaced ~ 3mm extra to help ease rear brake setup when the drops are pulled back. I just used a simple washer to do the trick.
Thanks for looking - PM or email mtbdee at hotmail dot com for pics, etc..
