Fall trip to Kingdom trails?

I was thinking about heading up to Kingdom trails this fall for a bike/camp trip. Any recommendations of a decent time frame to catch nice cool weather and foliage?

A group of friends and I have been going the last weekend of Sept for several years now.

Last year was fun but Burke has started having their fall Festival that weekend so town was super busy (i.e. no parking, etc, etc) and finding a place to stay was actually tough for some in the group.

In short, I recommend late September. The leaves are usually peaked, the mornings can be chilly but if the sun is out things warm up fast.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking late Sept or early October. Any recommendations on lodging? Looking at maybe getting a cabin or something. Should be a group of 3-5 maybe more. Maybe we'll see you up there.

I'm hoping to make it back up there in late September or October, but it's too early to say when yet. My last plans to go changed, and then were cancelled. I'm learning that it's not in my best interest to plan trips too far ahead of time.

Keep everyone posted of your plans. Maybe we'll end up there at the same time.

A group of us from SNH usually go up Columbus weekend. Foliage is great, no bugs and perfect temps.

We usually stay at Burke MTN camp ground. I think that last weekend in Sept is the last weekend open for the season but I am not positive on this.

I think we are looking at Oct 6th, 7th and 8th. It's a Mon, Tues and Wed, but we are all taking a couple of days off. We are looking at the cabins at the state park up there, they look pretty decent. When we solidify the dates I'll put up a post. I looking forward to it.

I booked a cabin at Brighton State Park for the 6th & 7th. I think there will be between 3 & 6 in our group. Let me know if any of you are going to be up there during that time.

Bummer. I probably won't take any time off mid-week because I will be taking time of a few weeks later for my 10th anniversary. I will most likely be heading up either the wekend before you or the weekend after you. I probably won't solidify plans until the week of the trip.

I may also head up over Labor Day. I need to check with PK about campground availability since I believe he has all the sites reserved.

That's funny. The time off for our anniversary will probably be on the Cape (with bike :rad: ). We spent our honeymoon on the cape 10 years ago (lived in St. Louis, MO then.

I may have to get some winter riding in with you and Jisch (and others). I moved here last winter and was getting tired of you Cape guys saying that you were riding while us Mainers were snowed-in.
